View Full Version : A grim future...
Fonzie87 11-25-2002, 11:19 PM Ya know what I have come to realize? In 20 or 30 years if TV Land isn't out of buisness (which I sincerly think they won't be) the modern sitcoms on TV now (ie - Everybody Loves Raymond, Will&Grace, Friends etc..) will be whats on, and shows like Happy Days, Beverly Hillbillies, Andy Griffith etc.. won't be on TV anymore. Maby you guys have considered this before, but it just saddens my heard to think of an age with ugly cars, classic style motorcycles gone and the best TV shows living only in our memories. :crying:
Chad22 11-25-2002, 11:21 PM Nah, That will never happen. Sure theyll have shows like that on, but considering they still have shows like I Love Lucy And Leave It To Beaver on, 50 years after they first aired, i doubt they would just let a show die. I hope not anyways...
iluvfonzie 11-25-2002, 11:22 PM That's why I fire up my VCR whenever a Happy Days ep I like is on. Also, we need to push to get it out on DVD. Write to Paramount.
Stormtracker TF 11-25-2002, 11:22 PM *Shudders* OMG..That's gonna be awful!

Di-tto!
Ugh... I hope that never happens!! Hopefully Happy Days will be on a lot longer, OR DVD!!!!! Hey.. why not both?? lol
Chad22 11-25-2002, 11:28 PM Actually, Their will probably be more than one TV Land by than. Like one for the shows thats on now, and one for the ones that we consider classics now. Who knows what their will be by than?

I vote BOTH! Hey if I had HD on DVD I would watch 4 (At LEAST lol) a day!
Fonzie87 11-25-2002, 11:32 PM Its a good idea, indeed its a great idea to have a Happy Days DVD, or a second TV Land that playes what we consider to be classics, but why would Paramount or TV Land pay for it? The number of people who enjoy HD is large enough now, but our numbers a dropping, people are moving on.
Chad22 11-25-2002, 11:42 PM You Know...You have a point. When they started showing Cheers on Nick At Nite, i actually felt...old  and i havent even graduated High School yet. I Can just see the day 30 years from now when i have kids and i bring up Happy Days only to hear "Dad Whats Happy Days?" :o

:( I know. I remember it used to be the #1 show on N@N.. but then they treated it like crap, and now look @ it. Im just glad its back on!
Cactus Jack 11-25-2002, 11:54 PM I agree w/ all this!!!!!!!!!!! It would be a new TV Land, BUT what about if they showed THat 70s Show, TAHT would be cool or Aanna Nicole Ring a bell MsConanOBrien lol
AnaheimPMWitch 11-26-2002, 02:15 AM I dont think they'll ever pull it I mean if you look at what they have on now on tvland and Nick @nite some of those shows are Older then Happy Days I think they'd add some of the newer things on but keep the classics Plus I think that someday they'll make a DVD of it like someone in here mentioned :)
White_Daisy 11-26-2002, 06:31 PM good god, Friends on TV Land. I fear the day...

Friends...YUCK! OMG..On Tv Land of N@N..I'd rather watch the worst (Is there one? lol) HD episode 999 times than watch a HALF of any other show!
White_Daisy 11-26-2002, 07:41 PM Forget Friends, the Anna Nicole Smith Show?!?! SURVIVOR!! I'd cry...
PS: Let there be snow!
Chad22 11-26-2002, 07:44 PM Their arent any good sitcoms anymore :( except Malcolm In The Middle and Andy Richter Controls The Universe.
CollegeGirl 11-26-2002, 08:29 PM OK, here's a sad story. I was talking to a 12-year-old boy today. I asked him if he liked James Dean and Marlon Brando, and he looked at me with this blank expression, "Who are they?" he asked.

Sadder story: I was talking to a guy in my grade (meaning he averages around age 17) and he said something and I mentioned that it sounds like something Fonzie would do. He just looked at me with a blank expression, "Fonzie? Is he in our grade or is he a senior?"
:eek2:
AnaheimPMWitch 11-26-2002, 10:08 PM even scarier You bring up ANYTHING about the 80s or even the last part of the 70s to your 12 year old niece and she looks at you like you're ANCIENT (and YES My Lauren HAS done that to me)
