For the first time in more than a decade, Chick-fil-A is no longer the top-rated quick-service restaurant, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), which rates eateries based on thousands of customer surveys reflecting on recent experiences with major chains.

After an 11-year run, results from 16,464 respondents knocked the chicken chain from its coveted spot in favor of sandwich shop Jersey Mike's ($4.2 billion in sales) which was commended for its freshness, food variety and value.

I'll have to try one. Subway is really getting on my last nerve. Their website has always been a mess, IMO, and recent changes made it even worse.

I ate at Jersey Mike's once and wasn't really impressed. Jimmy John's is even less impressive. Penn Station is the best with their great dagwood sandwiches and chocolate chunk cookies. I also wasn't impressed by Raising Cane's chicken. Lee's Famous Recipe will always be the best there.

I love Subway sandwiches, but never had one from Jersey Mike's. Subway used to load up their sandwiches with sliced meat, but noticed recently they have cut back on the amount of sliced meat they put on their sub sandwiches. Maybe that is why their ranking lowered.

Am glad Arby's is on the list as I think they probably make some of the best roast beef sandwiches around, especially their French Dip sandwiches with side order of curly fries :)

But when it comes to French Dip sandwiches, McAllister's is the greatest if you have one near you.

I have never understood the hype of Jersey Mike's Sandwiches but when my town opened one a year ago my parents and I were gonna try out Jersey Mike's sandwiches but when we looked at the prices and the sandwiches it just wasn't worth the price. My mall opened up a Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers last year and it too is pricey. But my mom likes Subway and eats there sometimes and sometimes the sandwiches are alright but they sometimes lack the ingredients you request. Another sandwich shop chain that I think is also overhyped is Panera Bread and my aunt is OBSESSED with Panera Bread and she gets their sandwiches and soups and I cannot figure out how Panera Bread is so popular but people seem to enjoy Panera Bread's sandwiches for some unknown reason. But I always have viewed sandwich shops as places to grab a quick lunch if you're going to work or going to the airport to catch a plane to go on vacation. But for some reason Jersey Mike's Sandwiches seem to gain a mega audience

Have never heard of McAllister's until you mentioned it. There is one in my town and was checking out the menu and they seems to have good variety of sandwiches. May have to check it out and maybe try out their Ruben sandwiches also as not too many places makes Corn Beef Ruben sandwiches.

There are alot of Uber and Doordash videos on Youtube where the drivers pick up orders from Jersey's Mike very frequently to deliver. I bet Jersey's Mike makes alot of sales thru those delivery services, with added fees.

I personally think 5 Guys is overrated. I tried them once and didn't think it was anything special.

Me too. I like Subway. I love the tuna sandwiches best. :)

I love the food at Jersey Mike's, but some of the staff isn't friendly at all. There's one location I visited often, but no more. The last time I went there I noticed there was a box of coupons near the register. The coupons were bogo on any sandwich and there were probably 1000 or more in the box. As I paid for my order I asked the cashier about getting one. I was told that they were reserved for their special customers, such as first responders, local officials, etc and they were not allowed to be given to ordinary customers like myself. At that point I told her to refund my money and left. I called corporate the next day and was told the box of coupons were supposed to be kept under the counter. The cashier and Mgr were both fired the same day and I was sent 5 coupons for free subs.

It has corned beef, pastrami, and Swiss cheese. Also comes with mustard which I prefer without. Don't know if it is all sandwiches, but a lot of them come with one side option like macaroni, chips, or soup. Only has three sides listed on the online menu but I know they have more than that.

Wow, that was some disciplinary action taken by the corporate. They have a very high turn over in fast business and they probably stuck a cashier up front without proper training or good customer manner. The cashier should have gave you a coupon, and them hide the coupon box under the counter. People love free food and more customer probably would have ask for a coupon if it is in plain sight.

Have never tried Subway Tuna sub sandwich. Usually order their foot long Cold Cut Combo or Club sub. One time I tried their meatball sub and by the time got home, the bread was too saggy from the marinara sauce. So you have to eat at store as soon as you get it :)

Or tell them not to spoon extra sauce on it.

We just got a Jersey Mike's here and I've been once. Overrated and over priced! I got one of the smaller sandwiches and they don't toast the smaller ones. It tasted ok, but not worth the price for a cold sandwich. For what I spent I could have bought the ingredients and made several sandwiches at home. Firehouse Subs is the best chain sandwich shop. It's pricey too, but it's a lot better.

I've never tried Jersey Mike's, although they and Firehouse and others have shops in my area. I find Chick-Fil-A to be very good, but it's been quite a while. The one nearest me seems to always be really busy.

But when it comes to French Dip sandwiches, McAllister's is the greatest if you have one near you.

I like McAlister's Deli but have only gone when invited by my brother's family, as a sit-down place. It's a little pricey for me, I'll let him pick up the tab...! lol

Another sandwich shop chain that also is popular that's also a bakery is Paris Baguette and I'm surprised that Paris Baguette didn't also make the list because their sandwiches are supposed to be really good according to their commercials. My uncle was a Subway addict and sometimes when he wanted a sandwich for lunch he would get the $5 Dollar Footlong and got my mom started liking those footlongs too. My aunt also enjoys Firehouse Subs but she will get Jersey Mike's if she finds a deal on their sandwiches

I have a recommendation. It was one of my favorite sandwich combinations of all time at a fast food place. Order a regular roast beef sandwich along with an order of mozzarella sticks. Put the sticks in the sandwich and then dip it in the marinara. It was delicious.
