It looks a little wider and for mobile I would think it would be skinnier.....

The skins gonna look wider because you're using a computer. I think his issue is the app overall, not the skin.

Nothing has been changed with the styles/themes. It's likely a browser or smartphone issue. Maybe try it in horizontal mode. The screenshots show you are using the regular default theme and not one of the mobile/responsive themes.

The mobile/responsive themes would look roughly the same as the default theme on PC/desktop because they adjust based on your screen resolution.

The Site Feedback & Suggestions section uses the Mobile/Responsive - SO Classic Blue theme.

This site should only be used on a Laptop or some type of computer. Maybe a tablet defintely not a phone

Some members like MA and opus don't seem to have any problems posting on their smartphones. I guess it depends on the size of your screen. If I was using a smartphone, I would definitely be using horizontal/landscape mode.

This software was designed with tables before smartphones even existed. We have 5-6 different mobile/responsive themes available, but they have some limitations.

Smartphones are good for quickly looking up information, but I wouldn't want to type more than a few words at a time.

I’m your “phone guy”? Only about 10-20 percent of my looking in here time is on the phone. But yes, when I do it looks and feels the same as PC or tablet.

I thought you were more like 75-80 percent on your phone. I think MA uses her phone exclusively. It can be done if you are typing only a few words at a time.

Since this site deal with some much chatting I figured it would be easier with a keyboard. But I guess I was wrong lol

Nope, for me mostly iPad (mini) or PC.

I think Bonnie is mostly phone but she’d have to confirm that.

It looks a lot better since this morning.

I’m disabled and that’s not easy for me to do. 99.9% of my internet usage is from my phone. I’ve used this site almost exclusively on a smartphone for years with virtually no problem.

I would guess that roughly 30% of the time that I'm on this site it's from my phone. It's a lot easier with a desktop or laptop, but it's certainly manageable with a phone.

Messed up again. Here’s what it looks like in horizontal mode:

On this MacBook Pro a few months ago, I was having strange things like that happen on this site. It seemed to be intermittent. I finally did the thing that tech support at work always suggested on virtually everything: restart the computer. And that worked.

The "click" noise when unlocking my phone suddenly disappeared yesterday (no updates from Apple). AI suggested shutting it down (after a few other checks) and restarting it, and that worked.

Point being, this restarting seems to clear a lot of problems.

Yes often restarting does :)

It seems to be an isolated issue because no one else has mentioned it. How does it look with one of the mobile/responsive themes?

Maybe try it in a different browser to see if it's a browser specific issue. I would also try clearing all of the cookies and temporary internet files. It could be due a recent browser or phone update.

I don't know if you are running an ad blocker or any other extensions. Those could potentially alter the layout. Maybe test it without any extensions.

Thanks. Those are all good ideas. I’ll try them later when I’m feeling a bit better and report back.
