Just shooting in the dark....

Any news anywhere about the Dick Van Dyke Show hitting DVD in the next couple of years?

IIRC, Paramount owns the show... and their Star Trek: TNG Box Sets are worth the cash. And, I'm sick of trying to record an entire run from TV Land. ;)

Hi Guy,
We're all waiting for that one. The last thing we heard was a rather lengthy and detailed reponse form Doug Denoff, a son of one of the writers for the DVD show, Sam Denoff. It did'nt seem very possitive, but I guess there's hope.
If you'd like to read it on this forum, just scroll down to the article entitled, "The DVDonDVD truth from Doug Denoff."

Unfortunately, it's gotten VERY, VERY quite again at Doug's site. I've been unsuccessful at getting any email replies from him for the past two months, so we seem to be back at the same place we were when he gave us the scoop a few months back.

Boy, I'd like to hear something from him BEFORE those Time-Life disks come out in January. Remember, that set is only going to be a "Best of" collection, not the entire set as Doug envisioned it. On top of that, the Time-Life set will surely be quite expensive (since everything they do is expensive). I'd be shocked if the dvd's from them are less than $25.00 a piece, with probably only four episodes per disk. That's VERY high when compared with other TV show disks.
