I've been watching the color Andy Griffith shows in the morning on TV Land, and I notice Howard Sprague does pretty well with the ladies. He picks up Millie from the bakery when she comes to town, and she takes an immediate shine to him. Also, in the episode where he becomes a Big Brother, he spends a lot of time with the kid's sister, Betty. Both are cute blondes.

You wouldn't think Howard would be the type of guy women would fawn over, but I guess those were different times. Plus the power of the script is above all.

For any women out there, would you find Howard appealing?

Probably not in a romantic way, but certainly he seems like a nice man who would make a good friend.

Ah, I didn't know that (or at least forgot). Haven't seen that show for a long time, and I never watched a full run. I knew she looked familiar. I thought that about Betty too, turned out she was in The Incredible Mister Limpet (a Don Knotts connection!).

Anyway, Howard had his shot at Millie and he chickened out.
