I have heard Cherish by The Association numerous times. A clue from Jeopardy earlier today (Alex version) said fondly remembering is this word that was a Madonna song from 1989, 23 years after The Association original that hit #1 (not mentioned on the Jeopardy clue).

Kool & The Gang also had a hit single called “Cherish” in 1985

I have heard the 1985 one but I dunno if I have heard the one by Madonna (Unless its on my VHS tape of Madonna videos)

Singers or bands can't "steal" a song title, since song titles aren't copyrighted. LOL.
