MASH 4077th has its efficiency rating, Night Court's Dan has the highest conviction rate. Is there anything in the show that indicates the 12th's detective squad is an outstanding group?

I haven’t seen it in a long time, so you can correct me, but didn’t they catch someone or have someone locked up in the cell in like most episodes? That seems pretty outstanding.

The detectives make a lot of arrests when they arrive to a crime scene (criminals seem to hang around a lot waiting for the cops to arrive) after receiving calls (detectives taking calls?). They don't spend much time on the street doing detective work. I know altering real policing to make a tight TV show. The whole Barney Miller detective way of doing things makes for great TV but nothing like police reality always is a cloud over the series.
