"The Hunting Party" took the scenic route but arrived at the same destination as fellow sophomore NBC drama series "Brilliant Minds": a cancellation after two seasons.

NBC postponed the decision until after the upfronts as its executives took extra time to evaluate the show’s performance on both linear and streaming. NBC sibling Universal Television is expected to shop it to other outlets.

"The Hunting Party" is done hunting. The options on the cast expired yesterday and were not extended by series producer Universal Television, Deadline has learned.

With the actors released, the efforts to extend the show’s life are officially over.
