I found out today that despite his cancer treatments being over and cleared to return full time, the horrible producers forced him out in season 8. They had the nerve to bring in someone else as a different Hudson. Fan backlash made them reconsider, and John will return to season 9. But I sure don't want to see season 8 now, shame on them! I wouldn't care if Sarah or Jesse were replaced, but don't mess with Charlie or Donovan. Sadly, the original Rex is no more with his death.

Hudson and Rex are set to reunite in Hudson & Rex season 9. John Reardon, who played Detective Charlie Hudson in the first seven seasons of the Canadian crime procedural, is slated to return to the show following his surprise exit last year. Season 9 will begin filming in St. John's, Newfoundland, in June.
