The premiere episode on sept 7, 1978 ranked #26 that went up against CBS Waltons and ABC reruns of Roots

The show fell to #59 the following week after 2nd episode

By beginning of October of 1978 no cancellation was announced and the show fell to #62 out of 65

One week later on Oct 14, 1978 NBC announced The Waverly Wonders will be cancelled and replaced by Different Strokes

Joe Namath, baby! Still the best QB the Jets ever had. Which is kind of sad if you think about it, since he retired almost 50 years ago.

Another fact, Larry Hagman was offered the lead in The Waverly Wonders. He turned it down in favor of another script he'd been given, Dallas.
