Tom Hardy Leaving "MobLand" after Season 2 as Paramount+ Drama Eyes Season 3 Renewal
by Nellie Andreeva
May 22, 2026

A Season 3 writers room is already underway on "MobLand" ahead of Paramount+‘ drama’s Season 2 premiere, Deadline has learned. But if/when the series is renewed for a third season, it will be without one of its stars, Tom Hardy, who will not be returning, Deadline has confirmed.

Friction between him and the series’ writer, executive producer and showrunner Jez Butterworth reportedly boiled over to a point where the two could no longer work together. Hardy’s chronic lateness to set is believed to be one of the points of contention, with tension between him and his co-stars also said to be a contributing factor.

Reps for Hardy and "MobLand" producers 101 Studios and Paramount TV Studios did not respond to requests for comment.
