I don't get them..Everyone is always trying to insult someone by calling them a "prep", or a "punk. What do they mean?

ahhhh...i could say alot on this subject...I HATE LABELS...they're stupid and there is no point...everyone seems to feel the need to be in "some catagory" but who cares??? why cant we be friends? lol...anyways i think is really dumb...ahhhhh...i have a hard time puttin this into words...ughhhhh labels irritate me really badly...everyone thinks hey im "whatever" than i have to act like a "whatever" and dress like a "whatever" and listen to music that "whatevers" do...grrrr...because you are friends with "whatevers" does that make you a "whatever" (that was confusing but u get the point).....damn I HATE LABELS...

Ya, labels suck. Most people dont realize they do though until they get out of high-school. Then, they realize, WTF what was I thinking?

I get labeled all the time and it REALLY bugs the hell out of me, because that's not who I truly am inside. I'm me. I don't go up to people and say "Hi, my name is Freak" or "Hi, my name is Goth". I say "Hi, my name is Karly". Every person should be labeled as their name.

If they try to use it as an insult then I don't like it. it doesn't bother if someone calls me a punk or goth. i mean i've been told be some nice people that they think I "Look good gothic!". Ive also been called that in an insulting way. I dont mind being put into a catagory i just dont want to be steryotyped.

amy took the words outta my mouth. labels suck. plus, you can't just label a certain person into ONE category. but, i guess it's not gonna stop because it's been going on since the beginning of time.

Labels are stupid, people should only be called by their names, instead of being put into categories. I don't really understand exactly what a prep or punk is...
