When Esther Rolle left Good Times in 1977 and returned in 1979 I wanted to know while she was gone was her room ever used in any episode while she was off the show? I can't remember. Hope someone can help me.

It was still Florida's room. The writers didn't treat Florida's character like she was gone for good. Just away for a short time to take care of a sick relative. If the writers had written a storyline that Florida moved away with Carl or something like that, I'd say it would be a little weird that they still slept together on the couch.

I always thought Florida had married Carl and moved with him to Arizona for his health. When Florida returned for Thelma's wedding, she stayed and Carl was never mentioned again.

Yeah, I remember them mentioning something about Carl dying.
I knew he was sick and was supposed to have some sort of life saving operation but he didn't want it. That was weird that they never mentioned him again.

I thought they mentioned that she was away helping out a sick aunt?!? I don't remember the kids ever mentioning Carl when Florida was away. I guess they just killed Carl off?!
