I actually bought a book about this case which I have not read yet.
What do you think is the real truth behind this case?
Bobbi claims he threatened her into staying with him, Dial said the same. But condoms were found along with letters and they had testimony from others saying they were intimate.
In either case I would say my hats off to her husband. He must truly love his wife!

for a long time I felt she was abducted. But most of the evidence appears to point to her leaving with him. she is scum if so. Bad enough she does that to her own husband who clearly put her on a pedestal but abandoning her own children for a sleezebag like Dial is about as close to unforgiveable as it gets. Women can be vile. I don't know that someone who did that knows the meaning of the word love, so all I can figure is the sex must have been unbelievable which sure as hell doesn't excuse it. If indeed she left.
But the fact Dial vouched for her still bugs me a little. Dial struck me as the type who would shout this from the rooftop bragging if she ran off with him. And he didn't have anything to gain by doing so. So I guess there is a small possibility it was true, sure doesn't look like it though.

She had multiple times where she was left alone, often times in public places, where she never alerted anyone about Dial or who she was. She was tried for helping Dial escape and she was convicted. And her trial was not some quick trial, it lasted 3 months and the jurors deliberated for 3 days. There was a witness at her trial who says he saw her willingly get into the van with Dial when he escaped. Guilty.
There's an interview with her on Dateline from when they covered this case in 2012 that's worth watching. They asked her directly why she didn't flee when she had the chance. It's split up into 6 different parts here: https://www.nbcnews.com/search/?q=bobbi+parker

Maybe she was forced to flee and ended up falling for him in some weird Stockholm Syndrome way?

That might be a possibility.

It wouldn't be the first time.

After watching the documentary that was on dateline I formed the conclusion that she was having an affair of some sort with Dial whether it be physical or emotional. and chose to leave with him or was torn about leaving but left anyway and played the victim so that she could return to her family later. I find it strange that Dial was allowed to visit their house in the first place. I don't think I could have been ok with that if I were her husband.
That said I won't rule out that she was a victim of dial or was manipulated by him initially, but her behavior seems very odd in the sense that they very much had a romantic relationship.

I would have to guess that the husband truly believes in his heart that Dial kidnapped her against her will and has some guilt because he allowed Dial to work in and around their house which subjected her to his advances. When I originally watched the segment from the UM perspective, it seemed like a straightforward abduction as it was portrayed. but from the Dateline episode and the neutral perspective of the law enforcement that located Dial? that's not something that can easily be explained.
