I found this neat mousepad of Freddie up for bid. I would love to have it but don't have the money right now. :crying: & A stranger has the top bid on it. :( & I want it. :crying:

I noticed that the pic on it is one of Dani's Wallpapers I think. Really she should be making the money off it & not some E-Bay seller since she went to so much trouble & talent to create this wallpaper. :( Looks like there is a sale market for her wallpapers. :) Too bad someone else making the money off it instead of her... :( I'd rather see it go to one of ya'll than a stranger...

:eek:Well, I'm at a loss here! I did not know of anything like this and I can't believe someone actually sold that.
OK, I've had a good cry:crying: over it and I've screamed:livid: at a friend of mine, so now what can I do?:( Is there anyway that any of you know that I do something about this? Personally, I don't want any money for this, I only do these for fun and to remember a great person. Still, I don't like being taken advantage of here. Please help me out here!:thanks:

Dani,
Unfortunately I am not sure if there is any recourse for this kind of blatent thievery. I know you can copyright work on the internet, but I am not sure how. Maybe you could research that. Unfortunately, because this is a public domain forum, any work that is not copyrighted is fair game for people to do whatever to it. And that includes people making money. I really feel bad and I hope you will not lose so much heart over this as to stop sharing your creations with us. We sure have enjoyed them. But I understand your fustration.

BTW I have never taken my tapes of the show to eBay to sell because of the copyright issues. Those who sell them on eBay are selling them without the permission of the owners, BTW, and they could get into a lot of trouble if caught. I have chosen not to take that risk. That is why I have never charged those whom I have made tapes for. Those of you who have been generous enough to recompense me for the cost of the materials, I have been thankful to you, but I would never charge. I have a healthy respect for the copyright laws of our country. I only wish others felt the same way. But then we all know people who break other laws too, if they think they can get away with it. It is the world we live in. :(

Oh man. I really feel bad for Dani here cuz she went to all the trouble to make these pics & someone else is making money off them. If they wanted to sell a mouse pad of Freddie, they could've took any pic of him off the net instead of Dani's nice work to do it with. Guess they are too lazy to do up their own pic of him for the mouse pad. :( I would love to have one of these mousepads or any mouse pad of Freddie. Don't let this keep ya from sharing your nice pictures with us. :)

It looks like some unofficial stuff is being sold of him over the E-Bay etc. I've seen stuff like keychains & alarm clocks etc of him & Jack & I'm betting that stuff was not out in the 70's. I once saw a cute pillow case of him but no $$$ at the time to get it with. While I'm glad to see this sort of stuff out & would love to have it, I hate to see people getting rich off his name...

Also on the CATM tapes, I have seen sellers sell a list of episodes of the show & the tape is included free. I guess that's how they are able to get around the copyright law...

Hope no one minded me mentioning this & I hope this didn't upset Dani. If I upset ya by mentioning this, sorry about that. I figured folks would want to know & esp with the person having bid on it & won the bid on it being a stranger & no one of our Freddie family & Freddie site people. So sorry to bear such bad news. Maybe I shouldn't have have mentioned it since it upset Dani so much but I figure folks would want to know. Don't worry we support you! :) You do a great job on your pics! This does prove one thing. If Dani were to ever decide to put out her artwork on stuff there is a demand & it would sell. :) Good luck! Hoe thia all goes better for ya...

Can you believe the nerve of people ? I wish there was something that could be done. To steal someone elses work and then make money off it....its just NOT rite!

Well, I'm going to try to see what ebay tells me about this. Maybe I can at least stop this person from doing this again.
Thanks for all the support here! I knew I could count on all of you for this!:bighug:
I want to say a special thank you to Ms Cheryl! It did upset, but not because you pointed it out. If you hadn't said something, I would have never known. Thanks for looking out for me here because I really do appreciate it!;)

If I see another one up for bid I would love to buy it if I can get the money up. Hope ya don't mind. I figured you & the others would want to know about this. Glad to alert ya'll to stuff like this. If Freddie were here he'd be sooo mad...

I can't believe I had seen that being sold on Ebay Dani! I know you must be crushed! Have you written to the seller about it? I have started signing on some of my wallpapers and might be a good idea anyways, Is that we all who have designed wallpapers should start signing them on the botton or any kind of trademark or symbol indicating your own creation. Good Luck Dani, I hope you can get it cleared up.

Dani I'm in SHOCK................ How could anyone do that?

I hope that "Coward" pays for what they did.

It makes me so sad and mad at the same time....... Grrrr......

I would be tempted to send them a subtle e-mail such as,

"hi, my name is Dani and I see that you like my artwork...so much so that you took one of my designs to make these cool mousepads... since you love my work so much and now you know who the artist is, maybe next time you will ASK before you "borrow" one of my designs!
:D

I have emailed the seller to let them know the hurt and trouble they have caused here. They have stressed as long as it is not copy righted they have every right to what they please with it. I have emailed them to find out where have they have been receiving or from whom they have been receiving the pictures from . I am waiting for an answer.

This is sad what they have done to her. I hope they quit doing it & use some other pictures of him to do their mousepads. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else...

Well, so far I haven't been able to get much of answer to all this. It is so discouraging!:(
Ms Suzanne, I've talked to a few people that make graphics and one friend of mine who has had this done to her. She says that he's wrong about that and he can be sued for using the design. The creation is original therefore I have copyright to it. Oh what a mess we've gotten into!:angryfire
Well I still want to say thanks to all of you! I'm so lucky to have so many sisters here who are on my side! :bighug:

Well as I was browsing through ebay tonight or should I say early this morning. I didn't see any more of Dani's wallpapers being sold without her approval that I know of. I don't know if the one that was previously posted had expired on it's bid or pulled off due to the complaints.
I had written to the seller as stated in my last post here. I still have not heard anything yet. I emailed Ebay and complained about the stolen original art work of Dani's being sold by someone without her approval. I have hoped that my email and anyone else who has emailed Ebay about this has helped. Although I have recently seen the seller still sell mousepads again not of Dani's or anyone's other ORIGINAL art work that I know of.
I hope things are being resolved there at Ebay between the seller and with Dani.

Thanks Ms Suzanne.:)
I have had several people tell me about emailing the seller and emailing Ebay, but so far nothing that I know of has really been done. The mousepad that was for sell again, did not sell, because no one bid on it. Maybe that will discourage this person from selling anymore of them.

I saw where the auction on the mousepad ended & no one bought it. Good luck to Dani! :)
