Bradbury went on to have over 100 credits as "Self" in Internet Movie Database.
On May 24, 1956, Ray Bradbury appeared on You Bet Your Life, a game show hosted by comedian Groucho Marx. The game featured three teams of contestants, one man and one woman in each team, who would answer questions on various subjects for cash amounts. Whoever had the most cash at the end would win.
Groucho would tease and cajole the guests. Bradbury was very smiling and good-natured. He chose motion pictures as the question category. Incidentally, Bradbury claimed to have seen every movie ever made, in English anyway. Although this is impossible, he saw and remembered most major American releases from 1923 on. Bradbury’s partner was a charming elderly woman. Bradbury was a gentleman and gave her the answers to give to Groucho.
I won’t give away who won, but Bradbury came across as very likable in what was almost certainly his first television appearance and was certainly his first national television appearance.
