There will be no second season of "The Runarounds" as Prime Video has opted not to renew the YA series.

The development is not surprising as it’s been seven months since the eight-episode first season of the music drama was released on Sept. 1. According to sources, the show was quietly canceled a couple of months ago.

Its female lead, Lilah Pate, recently booked a series regular role on another show, Taylor Sheridan’s "Frisco King" for Paramount+.

Though the series is ending, the eponymous rock band at the center of it will carry on. The group, comprised by show stars and real-life musicians William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher, is on tour through the end of June.

"While the TV series may have come to a close, as a band we’re here to stay," the quintet wrote on the group’s Instagram after Deadline broke the news of the cancellation. "This is merely the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new one."
