It is bad enough we have a fake Matlock and possibly a fake Rockford coming. ABC announced today that Leslie Jones will star in a remake of The Mary Tyler Moore Show as Mary Richards. Jones was likely the worst game show host ever with her screaming attempt at Supermarket Sweep, proof that just being a big fan of a show does not qualify you to host it. Nikki Glaser will play her best friend Rhoda Morgenstern. Joel McHale, who never passes up an opportunity to admire himself on camera, will play the boss Lou Grant. Nate Bargatze the average, who proved on his game show he is not smarter than a 1st grader, will play pompous newscaster Ted Baxter. Rodney Carrington, an obscure comedian who had a two season sitcom on ABC two decades ago, will play Murray Slaughter. While there will still be a theme song, this version the theme song will be rap. ABC for some odd reason is so high on this remake of The Mary Tyler Moore Show they ordered it straight to series for fall 2026 without even seeing a pilot episode. :mad:

Are they thinking ahead and planning Rhoda after four seasons?
