The Hallmark Channel just took off The Facts of Life right around the Sniper was caught.

This is the BIGGEST LOAD of poo I have heard in quite some time. How dare you compare a world tragedy to the events of 9-11. I lost friends that day, and because freaking FOL isn't on has absolutely no connection to that whatsoever.

Next time you make a claim like this, you'd better think twice about what you say. I don't accept your apology.

The Facts of Life going off the air doesn't have anything to do with national tragedies. Facts was off the N@N schedule by the end of June, so it's beyond me how you got 9/11 out of that.

But the only reason Facs isn't played anywhere is because those damn people they call programmers aren't smart enough to realize what a classic gem their missing. USA was the only network who treated FOL with some dignity. They had it for about 5 years on their schedule.

I don't think God is punishing us. The events of 9/11 and the sniper attacks are caused by evil people, not God.

And as far as FOL goes, that's part of life. Your favorite show can't be on somewhere all the time. I really like FOL, but it not being on is not even the same ballpark as the tragedies that this country has faced in the last year or so. No offense, but I really thing you might need to grow up/mature a little.:rolleyes:

In my opinion FOL is a wonderful show, so I couldn't see how you could compare it to these events, and in the same way it has nothing to do with the show and because or the fact that Hallmark and Nick-at-Nite dosen't play the show dosen't exactly mean they're preventing us from seeing it. Hallmark still owns the rights to the show and has a chance a airing it again, so there is a possibility it might air it once again. I don't see how a one show could create a tradgedy, I wouldn't even put the FOL in the same catorgory.

I doub it's true but I'd be laughing my ass off if it was. Jo was what made NMK go famous in the first place. If FOL never came back to N@N, The Division wouldn't be so popular. :rolleyes:

Thats pathetic, oh yeah god punishes us by taking some cheesy 1980's sitcom off of the air yeah right!! hahahaha N@N took FOL off in June because thats when it stopped recording on my TIVO and FOL was taken off way after the Sniper was caught, once again thats pathetic!

I don't think Nate was serious about it. He just noticed the coincidences. (I hope anyway) I can say the God had nothing to do with axe of FOL because God doesn't do thing by coincidence.

All I'm saying is that I don't think there is any humor comparing FOL to 9/11. Did I go overboard in my posts? Probably. But I had friends that died that day. And when someone comes in and says there is a relation between the two, it just set me off once again. It's just that you KEEP posting the same thing like WE didn't read ANYTHING you posted. We read it. We respect your opinion. But we were trying to take something that we as well thought were poorly compared and turn it into something fun. That's what these boards are all about. FUN...

I'm terribly sorry you lost friends that day. I lost my best friend when I was in first grade...I know it's no picnic. And it can haunt you for years--if you let it. I'm not saying that anyone should forget about what happened. I'm just saying, maybe something good DID come out of. And if NOTHING good came out of it, you can bet that I'm gonna find SOMETHING to joke about and to cheer people up with because I'd rather go to hell than go through that again.

Don't leave Jayman. I can understand where you are coming from. You lost friends that day and that's some serious stuff. Even though you like FOL, it isn't your main priority. 9/11 just isn't something people enjoy hearing jokes about. I understand that when you read this post, you've must've had some awful memories of that day flooding back to your mind.

I think the reason we make the joke about FOL cancellations the "reason for 9/11 and the Snipers, etc." is because it's easy to use those events as an indication of societal collapse--"and it's all due to Facts being cancelled!!" If it were things like earlier catastrophes like the Space Shuttle Challenger blowing up or Mt. St. Helens erupting, etc., we would have used that. Of course, it's very hard to make jokes about 9/11 when so many people died and it was the greatest act of cruelty and cowardice on the part of some international punks in our time. None of us in this country has let a day go by without thinking how terrible it must have been for so many. I was at first very sad (fortunately I didn't have a t.v. to watch repeated viewings of it) and then I became angry--but I still think we should accept the thread-starter's comments in the spirit in which they were given--that they were NOT meant to be insensitive or cruel. Not all of us in this country have been affected by this tragedy as much as others in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania have been. No one really compares the cancellation of Facts as a major
event--we as Facts-fans just LIKE to pretend it is, because we're just nutty that way!!!:D :crazy: :lol:

I read all the posts (I haven't checked up on this post in awhile and realized that it got a lot.....i don't think my email sent me notices that ppl replied to this post.) anyways, I didn't mean to offend anyone on this. I wasn't actually serious about how FOL was taken off due to that sh'it.

I now blame Nick-At-Nite or (NICK @ NITE now) for being such idiots. That year they had the Unrealathon (cept for Diff'rent Strokes) was a big mistake. Nick-at-nite wanted a new image. I didn't like it, and I don't like today's Image either.

Like networks and TBS do, they SPLIT the end credits just to advertise.....I HATE WHEN THEY DO THAT!

You do have my agreement involving those two subjects. How could we forget voice overs too. Split credits are more annoying to me, but voice overs are right on up there with it.

Jayman - I don't understand why you keep saying that you had friends die in the WTC the day of 9-11 - Like Lizzie said - we heard it the first time- you just make it sound like you're special because you knew people in the WTC that day - well my two uncles died but you dont see me parading around this post telling people that - it was just someones opinion - they didn't mean to offend you and they didnt say anything about the people who passed away that day...You need to lighten up a little bit - I know it was and still is hard to deal with, but I'm sure they didn't mean to p*** u or anyone else off by stating their opinion...
