Hey everyone. Welcome back to our channel. Before we start our video today, I would like to take a moment and talk about Sam Kieth, the creator of the Maxx. He passed away on March 15th, 2026, at the age of 63 years old. He had been battling Lewy Body dementia for several years, which is a condition that has the signs of both Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease. He passed away at his home in Sacramento and is survived by his wife, Kathy, who has been his loving partner for four decades. He was an inspiration to all of us. He didn't want a memorial service, and instead, his family made donations to the Hero Initiative, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, and the Lewy Body Dementia Association.

In the 1990s, MTV was the tempo of cool, a neon-lit cathedral of counterculture that gave us Beavis and Butthead, Eon Flux, and the occasional existential crisis disguised as a music video. But somewhere between Darius' sarcasm and Liquid Television's fever dreams, MTV did something terrific with its "MTV oddities" block. This "animated series" featuring characters from "The Maxx" by Sam Kieth, shifted between worlds and showcased the unique "MTV animation" style of the era. Let's take a dive into this forgotten gem.
