I chose both because--
1. The ones WITHOUT the audience had the best episodes.
2. The ones WITH the audience I liked best.

But its true IMO. The first 39 really depicted life as the 1950's. After that it was all about their situations and Fonzie. But, you know me! I liked them! No..LOVED them!

I liked both but the last few seasons were not my favorite except when Tom Hanks made a guest appearance in an episode.

Hey all the seasons were cool. I didn't notice much difference between them.

I chose with the studio audience! Fonzie had a larger role, as did Ralph. And I think Ralph had the ability to open up more and show everyone just how funny he had been. And that is when Potsie became "Such a Potsie!" *LOL* I just read a book last night that was written when the show turned to being in front of a studio audience and most of the actors agreed that they thought the show was improving since they decided to film in front of a live audience.

I chose 'without'. Even though I love all the shows, I just liked the filmed version better.

I have to say WITHOUT an audience. I did enjoy the new show somewhat, but I really wish they had changed the name of the show. Because it was really that - a NEW show.

They should have renamed it to "Fonzie's Happy Days" or whatever they had in mind at the time.

That's my main problem with the change. It was a different show with the same name.

I liked the ones better without the audience because they got to go more places than just the Cunninghams house and Arnolds.

I Love Carol Burnett!

I think at some point they went back to filming without an audience. Some time in the later years. I don't know when but I was watching an episode this morning that looked like it had canned laughter.

Does anyone know for sure?

In retrospect, the audience episodes are annoying because of how they would applaud anytime a character entered a scene.

If it was Fonzie, forget about it! It was unnatural for someone to begin delivering a line and then have to pause while they wait for the cheering and hollaring to die down. Very unnatural in terms of comic timing if you think about it.

I liked the live audience the best cause, you could see how the reaction was when a character made their entrance.

I liked the live audience the best cause, you could see how the reaction was when a character made their entrance.

I can understand that, but it's not natural to me when a character enters a room, starts a line of dialogue and has to pause so that the audience can calm down.

But that's just me.

I like it WITH a studio audience. I love the whole show, but the first season isn't my favorite.

Talk about oldschool. Look at his avatar. "Avatar by: TheFonz". I've changed my screename 5 times since then.

I am confident now that no matter how much time goes by, my old threads will continue to resurface every 10 months for all of eternity.
