If Keith was able to drive around the streets of southside Chicago in a brand spanking new Cadillac (without being robbed or carjacked, of course), surely he would've been living somewhere comfortable (and fashionable), and Thelma would've happily moved out of the Evans' apartment and into Keith's apartment shortly after their wedding. I think he was broke when he met Thelma as he didn't even have the money for his own wedding. JJ had to borrow $1K from Sweet Daddy to pay for Keith's wedding.
