I wonder if the fact that Futurama won an Emmy this year for best animated series will have any effect on how FOX treats the show? I hope it does because Futurama is very good.

One way I think FOX could treat Futurama better is if they moved it to a later slot on Sunday. FOX could use the 7 p.m. slot for American Idol when football won't pre-empt it. That would give the night a potentially huge lead-off and give Futurama the advantage of having a lead-in like The Simpsons or King of the Hill.

i totally agree with you that Fox has continually given Futurama the shaft. my old roomie and i have discussed the way Fox mistreats shows like Futurama by putting them in crappy time slots, or changing the time unexpectedly. it's like if it's not a hit within a week it's doomed ya know? yet, they kept pushing shows like the X-Files and the Simpsons, that have already established loyal fan bases, with constant advertisements. sorry for the rant but it makes me mad, cuz Futurama is such a good show! and the animation is so sweeet!
and Bender rulz! :)

What's sad now is that it looks like Cartoon Network is giving Futurama better promotion than FOX has since it premiered. They've been showing commercials all the time. Putting full-page ads in magazines. Maybe if FOX did this and gave the a better time-slot, they'd have another Matt Groening franchise.

I agree, FOX never tried to really promote Futurama. It's almost like they wanted the show to fail.

And apparently they weren't very subtle about it either.
