I contacted LivingTV a few days ago to ask how long The Golden Girls would be shown for, given that it's coming up to a year since they first aired and whilst he couldn't give me a schedule, he did say that LivingTV have the transmission rights until 2005 so he pretty much thinks they're just going to be kept on running, series after series until 2005 and probably after that aswell! I'm pleased we still have over 2 years worth because I was worried that they'd be shown for 12 months and then removed without a trace. I suspect the series has proved very successful on this channel though and that's why they're just going to keep on showing them :)

Cool. I wish we US fans felt as secure, LOL. I wish I knew when Lifetime's contract runs out.

I wish I knew too! I started taping all the eps I could 2 weeks ago until I get them all on tape. I wouldn't start watching the taped eps though until Lifetime gives GG the boot or cuts a lot of timeslots. :)

That is great news, Sam! And all of the UK Golden Girls fans can thank you, because you have been so instrumental in having the show brought back to British TV! Way to go!!! :)

Awww, thanks Michael! I wish the GG's being brought back to our TV screens was down to me :o :)
As for the GG's on Lifetime in the US, I think they'll be around until 2005 and beyond by the sounds of it. Just reading in another thread here about how they've rescheduled The Nanny as it wasn't doing as well as The Golden Girls was in a particular slot!
How long has The Golden Girls been broadcast on Lifetime for, incidentally? It's one classic TV show that I don't think is going to go anywhere for the next few years at least!

I believe that The Golden Girls has been running on Lifetime for about the past four or five years, Sam. It's good to know that Lifetime has the rights to the show for the next several years. Since they've paid good money for the rights, they will definitely be broadcasting the show!!! :)
