Hilary Duff is getting candid about (https://www.lipstickalley.com/threads/hilary-duff-gets-candid-about-how-she-and-sister-haylie-dont-speak-i-hope-its-not-forever-but-its-for-right-now.6091051/) the state of her relationship with sister Haylie.
The "Mature" pop star, 38, appeared on the latest episode of On Purpose with Jay Shetty and opened up about how she and Haylie, 41, aren't in contact at the moment.
"My sister and I don't speak," said Hilary, who released the song "We Don't Talk" about their rift on her new album, luck...or something. "And I think in my adulthood I've come across more and more people that are having this experience."
"I hope it's not forever, but it's for right now," continued Hilary.
The "Weather for Tennis" artist previously spoke about the rift between herself and Haylie in a February interview on CBS Mornings. At the time, host Anthony Mason asked Hilary if she hopes her sister hears "We Don't Talk."
"I don't think that that would help," Hilary replied. "I think I have to just exist as a person on my own and do what I want to do."
She continued, "I hope that for everyone that is where I'm sitting, you have to do what you want to do and you have to do what feels good for you. It's taken me a lot of time to get there and to live that way and to not care what the the noise is going to be around it and just be me."
"I don't know how she'll react to it," she said. "But it is a really personal part of my life that doesn't get to stay personal, so I might as well say how it is for me as an experience."
Hilary concluded, "That's all I'm trying to do. I'm not trying to say anything bad. It's literally just my experience, and that's really all I feel like sharing."
