I know that one well. SCTV really knew how to skewer game shows. Night School Hi-Q, Half Wits, Stretch Your Arm…. AND they really skewered Canadian game shows with their paltry prizes (for example, they introduced a prize, curtain opening to show a car, and the announcer says, “Seat covers!” as the driver’s door is opened).

It definitely showed that SCTV was done by people who grew up watching television.

This is arguably my favorite parody—even though I’m not Canadian. They really dig into Canadian television here. What the emcee says after “remove your blindfolds” NEVER gets old to me.

Warning: this humor is really is an acquired taste:

Was Austin Martin Short in that one?

As the quintessential Canadian celebrity Austin McGrath, yes. :)

And—his befuddled look at about the 6:03 mark!

I used to like the Great White North sketches (sorry, off-topic.)

Eh, another acquired taste.

The fellow who plays Kirk the last panelist looks more like Tom Poston, who also did many games shows.
