Star Lineup:
Day 1 - Rosa Blasi & Hal Sparks
Day 2 - Debra Wilson & Bill Brochtrup
Day 3 - Willie Garson & Kelly Packard.
Here's how the tournament will work (information from Jeremy Soria on ATGS):
When the show gets 6 players who have won $25,000 (by going up to the Winners' Circle twice and successfully getting all 6 subjects correct), the show will have a Tournament for $100,000. However, this Tournament is played completely different from before, and it feels a bit more like a Playoff than a tournament.
The 6 players are divided into 3 pairs, each pair going up on one particular day. We play regular Pyramid as before, and YES, the Super 6 is still in play. This time around, the prizes are for higher stakes: trips to Rome and London, as well as a 40" flatscreen Wega TV.
Whoever is ahead after 3 rounds plays the Winners' Circle. The first visit is for an additional $25,000, and if that first visit is successful, the next visit is for an additional $75,000, for a total of $100,000. The dollar values for the boxes have been increased also:
$2500
$1000 $1000
$500 $500 $500
With this setup, it is entirely possible to have THREE $100,000 winners during the 3-day tournament. However, if by the third day no player has claimed the entire $100,000, then the winner is determined by which players got $25,000, and which player did it in the fastest time. Whoever has the fastest time gets the guaranteed $100,000. If there is a tie for the fastest time, then the money is divided equally among the tied winners.
This is how I understood the rules for the tournament as I read the rules and legal release yesterday morning. This could be a very interesting playoff.
