On January 4-6, The Price Is Right will be taping its million-dollar episodes. Since the episodes are being taped in early January, episodes will probably air early in 2003, probably during February sweeps.

How exactly will the million dollar episodes work? Or is this just symbolic of the show giving away a million dollars over the past 30 years?

CBS has been airing promotional spots with Bob plugging the January 4-6 tapedates, so I'm sure they're still on.

And the million dollars will be given out on bonus spins from the wheel from what I've heard.

The three Million Dollar "Price is Right" episodes that tape January 4, 5, and 6 will be airing on CBS January 8, 15, and 22. I believe they will air at 8pm EST.

Date changes:
The first Million Dollar Spectacular airs on Wednesday, February 5 at 8:00 PM ET/PT. Then, come back for more excitement at 8:00 PM on Friday, February 7 and Wednesday, February 12.

I saw the first one last night, very cool set, an update of the daytime set! Here's the increases in the money games: in Punch-a-Bunch, the top prize is $25,000 instead of $10,000; in Grand Game, the top prize is $20,000 instead of $10,000; in Clock Game, the top prize is $5,000 instead of $1,000; in Plinko, the top prize is $100,000 instead of $50,000; and the $1.00 spot on the bonus spin is $1,000,000 instead of $10,000. The items up for bids range from $1,500 to $3,000. The showcases range from $65,000 to $80,000. My grandparents watch TPIR everday and I watch it everyday that I'm off!
