Maybe a year ago, I started a post on words (or words that aren’t words) that I hate and wonder why do people talk like this now. Here are two examples.
MERCH. God I hate this non word. The word is MERCHANDISE. Again, MERCHANDISE. I don’t know where “Merch” even came from from (the bowels of stupid hell?) or why no one understands how utterly stupid it sounds. Are people just too lazy and stupid now to use real words? “Merch” is an example that society is sliding into an idiocracy.
Second term, “REACHED OUT”. As in, “We reached out to the church for help.” Or “We reached out to your sister to loan us money.” The term is CONTACTED or CONTACT. Everyone is now saying “reached out”. I want to “reach out” and slap the crap out of the person who started that term. Or MERCH. Especially fking Merch.
