I think it's happening sooner rather than later. The 3 they have aren't cutting it and the movie choice this weekend was - odd. I watched the "Mist" when if first came out. I was terrified by it. I would not have put it in the 8 o'clock hour on a family channel

MeTV needs a face to represent them. It's been Svengoolie for years. I don't think it's the Toons guy.

I think Goolie may try to reach his 50th anniversary as long as his health holds out

We will have to wait and see how House of Svengoolie performs once Rich eventually retires. I think the idea of the next generation of Goolies airing newer movies makes sense conceptually. Whether or not it works, only time will tell. I guess if it fails they could always air more Three Stooges on Saturdays and even completely scrap Super Sci-fi Saturday Nights with something else.

They might put Leff in that Feratoo outfit and give the gig to him. I can't find an age on him, but I'd guess around 60.

In a recent Toon in with Me, Bill Leff said he was in his 50s, he does look younger then 55

Sit-coms are a good idea when Svengoolie retires.

I can't see who they are going to replace him with unless someone comes out of left-field.

I think they are also having a problem with movie-selection. The "Mist" was horrifying. I would have never put that in the 8 p.m. slot. The ending alone was terrifying. I thought what they were doing was putting family-rated horror movies in Svengoolie's slot and putting the horrifying/crazy movies on House of Svengoolie.

Something changed.

The biggest change was ME-TV never used to show R-rated movies, even if they had been edited. Now they do.

And, so far, these R-rated films are on House of Svengoolie not the regular Svengoolie. And Goolie says House of would take one out of 3 or 4 weeks per month slots due to complaints from those who can not record the House of shows or stay up late to watch them.

Solid choice. Bill Leff would bring his own creative energy to the host segments, complementing rather than copying what Rich created.

Money talks, they can just pay Rich for the episodes.

They rerun Bill Leff's show all the time. The contract was probably written for both, to allow for rerunning them, with some residuals.

Creature feature shows usually vanish for good due to the movie rights involved
You can not repeat the movie unless it was part of the contract when the rights were
secured to show it in the first place
For ME-TV repeating old Goolie episodes, the movie rights would have to be negotiated all over again

All movies will be going PD year by year. This year all 1930 movies went PD
Next year all 1931 movies go PD, I suppose Rich Koz could then sell the episodes featuring Dracula & Frankenstein from 31

In 2029, all 1933 movies go PD
So, if Goolie is still around, he could show KING KONG 1933 without negotiating movie rights
