It gets cut from the Film Rise episode but at the end of the original Gertrude Pruett segment they have a quick aside that she was last seen working as a maid or cook somewhere and the people she worked for asked if she got caught if someone could ask her to pass along her baked squash recipe.

As somebody who spend 20 years as a cook/chef, I worked with, and for, a ton of people with criminal backgrounds, so a show like this wouldn't shock me.

I mean.. at least they learn a skill.. Looks like three of them from Gordon's show have stayed out of trouble.
Not something I'd really be interested in seeing lifers doing, but.. The premise isn't bad for low-level offenders. Give them a skill to use when they get out.. It's better than the revolving door.

From what I understand of chefs.. Drug addiction is a VERY serious problem. So, I'm guessing most were related to that.
