Yes, there are probably other threads about continuity. One lapse I remember vaguely is Effie. I think in some episodes she is Thelma's sister-in-law, so she is Effie Harper. In another or others she is Thelma's cousin, with the last name Crowley.

I think Vickie once joked it's still a mystery exactly how many children Mama has. I think I remember her being like, "Who knows how many Harper children are roaming around, maybe some that were never shown or mentioned!" lol

Once on the Carol Burnett Show, they mentioned a Mary Ellen and there are some ppl torn if she was the Ellen we know or yet another child
