View Full Version : Who have you gotten autographs from?
Frasier W. Crane 11-17-2002, 08:09 PM This topic Should be neat. Everyone: If you've gotten any autographs from anyone, tv or movie, tell us here! I've gotten:
Betty White
Bea Arthur
Rue McClanahan
Bill Macy
Kelsey Grammer
Tim Conway
Nancy Cartwright
John Ratzenberger
Conrad Bain
Robin Williams
Bob Barker
Florence Henderson
Mary Tyler More.
I've sent for many others, but they haven't came yet.
AlexPKeatonFanboy 11-17-2002, 08:14 PM i have...
George Lowe(voice of Space Ghost)
Carmine Infantino(comic book artist)
Jae Lee(comic artist)
Mario Lopez
Dan Aykroyd
Tim Burton
Todd Mcfarlane(Spawn creator)
The cast of The Love Boat. I got a response from all but Lauren Tewes.
I've written to many in the cast of One Life to Live, and got autographed pictures of Bob Krimmer, Roy Thinnes, Susan Haskell, and many other cast members.
I've been a fan of so many shows that it's hard to list all the actors that I received pictures of. :D
dawsongirl 11-17-2002, 10:35 PM I'm too nervous to write people for autographs. I know, that's lame.

No it's not. I feel the same way. I told myself a few months ago that I want to write some of my favorite celebs before it's too late. I still haven't got around to doing it. I want to get a new printer, so I can print better pictures. I've got a list of people I want to write too. The thought still terrifies me of a celeb reading my fan letter.
Another difficult thing is the money question. Some celebs do have homepages that will allow you to buy autographs for X amount, but what about these celebs that don't have websites. What do I do? Do I include 5 bucks with the letter and picture? I'm clueless about that.
Adamantium 11-17-2002, 11:21 PM I went to a comic book convention November 25, 2000. There, I met Yvonne Craig (Batgirl from the 1960's "Batman" show). I also met the guy who played Timmy on the "Lassie" series. I saw, but did not get autographs from, Bill Mumy, June Lockhart and the daughter from "Make Room for Daddy". Their lines were too long, and I ran out of money.:happyface :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy  :typing: :loveya:

Awesome! How much does Yvonne charge for her autographs? She's one of the people on my list that I wanted to write to.

Thanks...at least I'm not alone.
I got this guy that keeps telling me, "Write Richard, write Richard," and frankly the thought scares the hell out of me. I have no idea why.
I think if you send a SASE that would work. Some celebs are nice and send it back to you on their own dime. What is that site...
www.stararchive.com
maybe. They have success and failure stories from actual people. Worth a check.

That's the site I visit. Argh, still scares me to death. lol I think my problem is sounding too hickish. Like if I sent William Shatner a fan letter, I imagine him thinking 'Oh my God, what a country bumpkin' while reading it.
I have a autograph form Comedian Lewis Black, I saw him preform and afterwards he he signed my CD.

Here's my thing. I put myself in the celeb's shoes and think how I'd feel getting letters from strange people I've never met. It's weird. I feel like a stalker or something. That is completely the dumbest thing to think, but I can't get over it.

That's how I do too. It just makes me feel weird thinking of them opening my letter and I don't really even know them and they sure don't know me. Of course, compared to a real life meeting the letter writing does sound more appealing. I'd be horrified at what I would do if I met somebody I liked walking down the street. It'd be kind of like MTVish. You know how people act so dumb when they meet N' Sync or somebody. They start screaming and crying, and I would be doing the exact same thing except with different people.

I hear that. I had this dream the other night that I apparently lived next door to Richard. Of course I was also sleeping in the yard, so we can all see how weird this is. Anyway, he comes out of his house, and well, I freak out like an 'N Sync groupie. And it's not I went over and said hi or anything.

I prob. wouldn't be able to say hi either. I'd be over there hypervenalating and screaming. I doubt I would even be able to choke out my name.

Regrettably, I will never get them:
Meredith MacRae: Three days after I sent my autograph request package to her, she publically revealed her brain surgery. She was a very, very lovely woman, my #1 crush, and I still shed a tear inside for her every day
Zal Yanovsky: I had sent him a letter commending him for the fine service at his Chez Piggy Restaurant when I was there a few years ago. He sent me a letter back, telling me to send him the album cover I had with me and he would sign it, since he was not there when I visited. I decided not to chance it since I had had other things lost in the mail and opted to wait until my next visit, which will now have to be without my album cover. But at least I have his signature on a letter, and that's still a score!
