I found an album called Let Yourself Go that according to the sticker on the album is actress Kristin Chenoweth's debut album and in this album she sings show tunes and also sings with Seinfeld's Jason Alexander and it's such a fun album. I also found that Kristin Chenoweth released a second album of Christian music and has released two Christmas albums before releasing a country album and another standards album and she recently released an album of oldies covers. Is Kristin Chenoweth trying to copy Bette Midler as an actress/singer?

Oh yes, I would consider Kristin Chenoweth more of a singer than an actress. But it is much more than just imitating someone else, Kristin always has had an outstanding singing voice. Good to know about the Let Yourself Go album, did not know she did duets with Jason. You would like my all time favorite movie, the musical version of A Christmas Carol starring Kelsey Grammer and Jason Alexander. NBC aired it in 2004 a few months after Frasier had ended, I watch it every year on DVD.

I first discovered Kristin Chenoweth through her first Christmas album and I was amazed at her talent and she could really sing so well. I then got the Let Yourself Go album and liked that one too as well. I think that if anyone can be like Bette Midler Kristin Chenoweth fits that bill. And the duet she sings with Jason Alexander Hanging Around With You is so funny and who knew Kristin and Jason Alexander could duet so well and pull off a home run out of the ballpark
Thanks for the interesting reply Icecream you should buy the Let Yourself Go album sometime

The main reason why I also think Kristin Chenoweth wanted to be a singer and record albums is like I mentioned she wants to copy Bette Midler and hoped that if she became a singer her records would get Kristin more fame. But when you look at Broadway stars such as Idina Menzel and Bernadette Peters to singers like Barbra Streisand and Linda Eder they released albums because they think a music career beyond Broadway sells and when you look at Kristin Chenoweth she is trying hard to appeal to a smart audience with her albums and music career
