Another episode where Ward and June are going out, and are in a quandry about Beaver and a babysitter. Beaver and Gilbert walk in, and Ward has the idea to have Gilbert spend the night.

Unbeknownst to Beaver, Wally is planning to go to a masquerade party following his basketball game. Lumpy would pick him up.

Beaver and Gilbert are watching a scary movie, and they eventually notice a strange car stopped out front. It's Lumpy, but he dons a mask for the party, modeling it for his rider, Bill Scott. The boys see the hideous mask and call the cops, Beaver using a deep "Mr. Cleaver" voice. (In later dialog when Wally gets home, Beaver eventually finds out Lumpy's car has been painted gray [only for this episode, we find out in subsequent episodes]). Eventually the cops arrive and haul Lumpy away.

After Wally arrives home, there's enough conversation with the boys for them to figure out they goofed. So they run upstairs to bed. Wally, not knowing what they've done, decides to skip the masquerade party and goes to bed in the guest room.

When Ward and June get home, an angry Fred Rutherford calls and demands to know why Ward had Lumpy arrested.

Ward and June quiz Wally, and eventually both nail Beaver and Gilbert. Next day, Beaver relates to Wally that he had to apologize to everyone involved.

Thoughts on this one?

One of my favorites.
I think lumpy and scott got everything they disserved and more.

Does Beaver say that using his Mr. Cleaver voice meant tht the cops would be comming soon?

I remember this as being a clever episode, and proof that Gilbert could lend himself to some good comedy.
