A missing detail causes trouble here. Scott (later this turns out to be his last name) invites Wally and some other friends to his parents' lake house. Eventually Wally learns Scott's parents won't be there and doesn't mention this to his parents. But, they learn from Lumpy's father, Fred, about the absence of Scott's parents.

At the last minute Wally tells his parents about no adult supervision, and they withdraw their permission, to Wally's chagrin. Outside, everyone but Lumpy has bowed out, and his father phones his disapproval.

Some oddities in Fred's dialog on the phone, and the fact the Lumpy even appeared at the Cleavers', ready to go.
