If you are a Bette Midler fan you probably watched her 1979 movie The Rose. Many people consider The Rose to be Bette Midler's most successful movie and the storyline is similar to Janis Joplin with Bette playing the character Rose and who knew Bette Midler could do rock music so well. What's interesting to know is that the same guy "Paul Rothschild" also produced Janis Joplin's final album Pearl in addition to The Rose soundtrack. I always liked The Rose because Bette Midler really knows her stuff and she and rock music go so well together
