Every time we listen to 70's music on Pandora I seem to always hear Amie by Pure Prairie League and I would love to know the story behind Amie? Is the guy in the song wanting to be friends with Amie or does the guy wish to be Amie's crush but Amie is interested in another guy? Was it also inspired by a real story too?

He drove her away by being too controlling and so she left him for another guy. The songwriter said it's not based on a real woman.

Such a beautiful song ! And Amie or Amy is such a pretty name. When I was younger I always thought I might name a Daughter Amy. But I ended up having boys, no girls.:)
