Most of Bob Segar songs can be categorized as either in Pop or Country genre. The following song with the haunting guitar interlude push the boundary toward the Rock Genre.

Back in the 80's you really didn't have to buy or own any of his records since most of his songs were played on the FM radio constantly :)

His songs seems to always tell a story like Night Moves being about his teenage years. He is one of the best American song writer.

I know. Night moves came out when I was a teenager . I very much could relate to it.

Down on Main Street is also a favorite of mine. Sometimes if I'm in a nostalgic mood and I hear it, it will make me cry!

You may and there is also room for seventh. The song Old Time Rock & Roll where Tom Cruise dance to it in his underwear :)

Here's a story that is surprising but weird. Bob Seger actually was friends with my mom and me and Dad didn't know about it. You see it all started when my mom was working at her hotel where she was a front desk clerk and she was checking guests in when she saw this guy with his band come in and after she had checked some guests in the guy and his band were standing at the front desk and my mom asked what the guy was doing with his band there and the guy was asking for directions to the hotel restaurant because according to Mom he was meeting someone. And then one of my mother's workers said to her "Do you know who you were talking to?" and Mom said "Who" and he replied "Bob Seger" and she was shocked and when Bob was leaving he gave Mom a Bob Seger cassette and tickets to his concert. And so on the day of the concert my mom took three of her friends and they all had fun and the next day before Bob had to leave on his next tour stop he wrote my mother a thank you note for attending his concert and they remained best friends and as for the cassette he gave her Mom gave it to a friend. But my mother liked Against The Wind and because of that friendship it's one of her favorite Bob Seger songs

Thanks for that story. That must have been early in Bob Seger's career as in the 80's where he turned into super star, nobody probably could get too close to him. There were just too many groupies hanging around him :D

I didn't even know Mom had a friendship with Bob Seger until she told Dad and me the whole story on how it happened. But Bob Seger also invited my mom and her friend out to dinner the night before he had to leave on his next tour stop and they had fun. My mother also likes Night Moves too
Thanks for the awesome reply GoldenTV

My favorite: Mainstreet (1976-77)

There was this long lovely dancer in a little club downtown
Loved to watch her do her stuff
Through the long lonely nights
She filled my sleep
Her body softly swayin'
To that smoky beat
Down on mainstreet
