In this episode, the wily Eddie Haskell palms off the beautiful and very tall Gail Preston on Wally for a dance at Mayfield High School. I noticed that Ken Osmond had a very short haircut in the episode, short for even 1962. Was Ken Osmond serving in the US Army Reserves at this time, which would account for the military-length haircut?

Incidentally, I think that actress Laraine Stephens, who portrayed the junoesque Gail Preston in this episode, was one of the most beautiful actresses to appear on LITB, along with Barbara Parkins and Toby Michaels. It’s too bad that Wally did not get to date any of these actresses’s characters in a later episode of the show.

I think this is a season 5 episode. He missed a lot of season 5 due to Reserve duty. They hired another guy, who played Scott/Bill Scott, to fill in on LITB.

Barbara Parkins, yes - she played Beaver's beautiful babysitter. Beaver didn't want her, but the - at the time - probably-pubescent Jerry Mathers was likely appreciative.

I think that Barbara Parkins and the late Ryan O’Neal, two LITB alums, were later a romantic couple on the 1960s ABC nighttime soap opera version of “Peyton Place.”

And Toby Michaels also appeared in Roger Corman’s classic, not to mention campy, horror film, “Little Shop of Horrors.” Ms. Michaels also portrayed a young woman, who is raped and murdered in John Ford’s 1960 western, “Sergeant Rutledge,” with Woody Strode and Jeffrey Hunter.
