Over eight years, there were several inopportune or embarrassing occurrences at The Grant Avenue School, which caused varying degrees of aggravation for Mrs. Cornelia Rayburn, the grade school’s thoughtful and eloquent principal.

Which unfortunate occurrence do you think caused Mrs. Rayburn the most annoyance:

Angela Valentine wearing a Jackie Kennedy wig to class?

Through a misunderstanding, Beaver not appearing on an episode of “Teen Forum” as expected?

Beaver wearing his monster sweatshirt to school?

Beaver’s unfortunate use of a four-letter word in front of Miss Landers?

Or, is there something other occasion on LITB you can recall, which caused Mrs. Rayburn the most angst?

Over eight years, there were several inopportune or embarrassing occurrences at The Grant Avenue School, which caused varying degrees of aggravation for Mrs. Cornelia Rayburn, the grade school’s thoughtful and eloquent principal.

Which unfortunate occurrence do you think caused Mrs. Rayburn the most annoyance:

Angela Valentine wearing a Jackie Kennedy wig to class? she had so many other problems--lost retainer, barfing in the cloak room, extra toe--Mrs. Rayburn learned to expect trouble.

Through a misunderstanding, Beaver not appearing on an episode of “Teen Forum” as expected? She should have known he'd goof something up.

Beaver wearing his monster sweatshirt to school? This ties for her biggest annoynce, with Beaver making the face in the school picture. Both incidents required calling Ward over to the school.

Beaver’s unfortunate use of a four-letter word in front of Miss Landers? She might not have been involved.

Or, is there something other occasion on LITB you can recall, which caused Mrs. Rayburn the most angst? The school picture mentioned above.

Oh, yes, Gilbert “The Insidious Instigator” Bates’s encouragement of Beaver to make that funny face just as the photographer was taking the class picture in front of the school was probably THE most annoying incident at The Grant Avenue School.

If LITB had continued on for several more years, I think that the wily Gilbert Bates would have eclipsed even the notorious Eddie Haskell as LITB’s greatest bete noire as Beaver, Gilbert, Whitey and Richard entered Mayfield High School. Alas, what we might have seen and enjoyed.
