That's amazing that they're at 300 already!

I believe this is the first sitcom since My Three Sons (or All in the Family/Archie Bunker's place if you want to get technical) to amass 300 episodes. In the 1950's and 1960's, sitcoms ran 39-41 episodes a season. Nowadays, sitcoms run 22-24 (and sometimes 26) episodes a season. It took the Simpsons 14 seasons to reach this mark. I hope the series stays on longer as long as it doesn't get stale.

300 that is a big accomplishment. Like BJL pointed out, not too many shows hit that big 300 mark.

Is The Simpsons the longest running sitcom yet? I'm not sure because I think Ozzie and Harriet ran a bit longer, but I was wondering how much longer until it reaches that title.

Not quite,the next season will be the 14th season which will tie Ozzie and Harriet for the longest running sitcom,but it has a long way to go to 435 episodes(The Record Set By Ozzie and Harriet)!!! Probably by the 18th season if it lasts that long!!! Fingers Crossed Sign!!!

Wrong. I specifically asked TJ which season The Simpsons are currently in and he said it is in its 14 season.

I forgot that The Simpsons first premiered in 1989,so definitely it's the 14th season
