Nothing scarier than a rebellious teenage girl (right Bonnie? Didn’t you used to be a rebellious teenage girl?)
And not the first time Julie ran off. Remember in the pilot she ran off to live with Dad.

Gone but forgotten.
Ok, yeah, she’s forgotten.

Ginny was sexy:)
TVFactFan 01-15-2026, 12:19 AM I got Barbara’s Emergence in my top 3.
It was nice to see the girls in a different setting in Barbara's Emergence. They was always in that damm apt.

Not Julie. She was living in a van and a sleazy motel for the prior 3 episodes.
TVFactFan 01-15-2026, 12:40 PM Not Julie. She was living in a van and a sleazy motel for the prior 3 episodes.
I purposely skipped over that nasty hotel and van julie was in:lol:

If you want to know what happens to David don’t skip tonight’s two parter.
Ginny was sexy:)
Speaking of skipping, for some reason Antenna is skipping over Ginny’s introduction episode tomorrow (if my onscreen guide is correct)
TVFactFan 01-15-2026, 02:30 PM If you want to know what happens to David don’t skip tonight’s two parter.
Oh I see its schedule for tonight. I just wasnt expecting him not to be around when Julie returned. That was kind of weird
TVFactFan 01-15-2026, 02:31 PM Speaking of skipping, for some reason Antenna is skipping over Ginny’s introduction episode tomorrow (if my onscreen guide is correct)
oh I thought the woman Ann caught david with was ginny:lol:

TVFactFan 01-15-2026, 03:25 PM Speaking of skipping, for some reason Antenna is skipping over Ginny’s introduction episode tomorrow (if my onscreen guide is correct)
they just continue to do **** without explanation. And its no one to ask why
TVFactFan 01-15-2026, 03:26 PM The Upholstery Rip-Off (Season 2, Episode 8)
its not on Tubi either: what was ginny naked or something LOL
its not on Tubi either: what was ginny naked or something LOL
Weird. I don’t know about Tubi but I know for 100% sure that Antenna has shown it before.
TVFactFan 01-15-2026, 10:03 PM so david is not seen anymore after David's new job Part2?
I wasnt expecting him he wanted kids too:lol: He expected Ann to go through all that again with 2 daughter who was almost grown? he was a weirdo
TVFactFan 01-15-2026, 10:07 PM Also David's New Job part 1 and 2 is missing from Tubi. Im pretty sure I saw part 1 on there this morning
TVFactFan 01-15-2026, 10:14 PM Correction
Part 1 is missing Part 2 is on there

Correction
Part 1 is missing Part 2 is on there
So they’re missing at least two, that one and the Upholstery one. Good thing I got the box set. Tubi probably missing others besides those.
TVFactFan 01-16-2026, 02:43 AM So they’re missing at least two, that one and the Upholstery one. Good thing I got the box set. Tubi probably missing others besides those.
Any bonus features on the DVD complete set?

Ending was kind of odd. We dont get to see the girls find out they are not going to California and that heir mom and David is not getting married
Bonniegirl 01-16-2026, 04:24 AM Ending was kind of odd. We dont get to see the girls find out they are not going to California and that heir mom and David is not getting married
David said he would catch up to the girls and let them know what was going on. I guess they were supposed to have been visiting friends in the building.
It was kind of sad, they liked David and wanted to go to California . Than all of a sudden everything changed!
I would have liked to see Julie and Barbara in the last scene too, but it would have made it really sad I guess.
Bonniegirl 01-16-2026, 04:30 AM Weird. I don’t know about Tubi but I know for 100% sure that Antenna has shown it before.
Yes. Antenna surely has shown the Upolstery ripoff episode.
It is weird, cause I mean we all have seen this show before so we know. But for someone watching for the first time, they'd be like Who's that lady? Skipping her intro episode she just kind of shows up randomly and it's strange.
Bonniegirl 01-16-2026, 04:32 AM I got Barbara’s Emergence in my top 3.
Yes. A really good episode. Definitely in my top 10 non Max episodes. ;)
Bonniegirl 01-16-2026, 04:36 AM As much as I just said how sad the episode with David leaving was. Not to contradict myself, nothing against him or the actor or anything. But glad he's gone. The story line was getting kind of old of Ann and his relationship. I like the episodes that focus on the girls more. Like Julie running away, and Barbara being a bad girl pretending to be on the pill.:D
Bonniegirl 01-16-2026, 04:43 AM Nothing scarier than a rebellious teenage girl (right Bonnie? Didn’t you used to be a rebellious teenage girl?)
And not the first time Julie ran off. Remember in the pilot she ran off to live with Dad.
Oh yes. I was pretty wild back in my teenage days. But not as mouthy as Julie. My parents were old school. They would not have put up with me yelling and talking back to them like that.
In my family it was the opposite though. I'm the younger daughter , rebellious, more like Julie. And my sister is older than me , the good girl. More like Barbara. :)
Bonniegirl 01-16-2026, 04:50 AM Opus and TVfactfan. Did you guys think it was so stupid when that drunk, wino in the lobby of the flea bag hotel stole Chuck's wallet and Chuck did nothing?
It would be different if it happened out in the street and the guy would be long gone. But the bum went up the steps to his room. Why didn't Chuck go up there after him ? The guy was really drunk and older , Chuck was a young healthy guy. Wouldn't he have kicked the bums a** to get his wallet back?
TVFactFan 01-16-2026, 11:28 AM David said he would catch up to the girls and let them know what was going on. I guess they were supposed to have been visiting friends in the building.

Thats because David started talking crazy and wanted to have kids:lol: 3 kids lol
TVFactFan 01-16-2026, 11:31 AM Yes. Antenna surely has shown the Upolstery ripoff episode.
It is weird, cause I mean we all have seen this show before so we know. But for someone watching for the first time, they'd be like Who's that lady? Skipping her intro episode she just kind of shows up randomly and it's strange.
And the episode timing is weird. Show starts at 8pm. Commercials until 8:06
1st commercial at 8:13 back from commercial at 8:18 and goes off at 8:28
TVFactFan 01-16-2026, 11:33 AM Opus and TVfactfan. Did you guys think it was so stupid when that drunk, wino in the lobby of the flea bag hotel stole Chuck's wallet and Chuck did nothing?

Yes that was odd especially since he knew where the bum was:lol:

It has
“This is it: The Story of One Day At A Time” which is a mini documentary that talks about season 1
The One Day At A Time Reunion show from 2005
A new interview with Mackenzie Phillips and Glenn Scarpelli
(and a 20 page episode guide booklet)
Agree on the wino. They don’t exactly make any effort to find him.

I think I saw that on CBS back at that time
Bonniegirl 01-16-2026, 07:41 PM Thats because David started talking crazy and wanted to have kids:lol: 3 kids lol
I know! 35 and she already had two kids. And who would want to have a baby with him? That big head, like Andre' the giant!
Bonniegirl 01-16-2026, 07:46 PM Agree on the wino. They don’t exactly make any effort to find him.
Right! And he was a mess, falling over, obviously in bad health from years of alcoholism. It would have been easy to get that wallet back from him. And the wino was older too, Chuck had youth and better health on his side.
Or was there any type of a desk manager or landlord they could have told to help intervene ?
TVFactFan 01-16-2026, 09:46 PM I know! 35 and she already had two kids. And who would want to have a baby with him? That big head, like Andre' the giant!
That shocked the hell out of me. I dont even think he mentioned kids until that episode
TVFactFan 01-16-2026, 09:50 PM Schneider's nephew was definitely a drug user:lol: And why did he sound like Arnold Horshack when he said HELLO.. Then Ann's lunatic father shows up all loud and crazy. Two back to back nutty characters.
I was eating pizza while Ginny walked in and I almost throw up:lol: She was very unattractive. Schneider had bad taste

Schneider seems to like every woman !
I like the guy Barbara had a date with. He reminds me of boys I hung out with when I was a teenager. :)

Bonniegirl 01-17-2026, 01:26 AM All in all I'd say the two episodes today were pretty good. . Better than the David leaving ones the other day.

TVFactFan 01-20-2026, 09:38 PM I see David Dukes was on One day at a time too in the episode the Maestro. *I was expecting to see Julie and Barbara again before the episode ended. When Ann and the guy was kissing I was confident Julie and Barbara would walk in on them. Not Ginny and Schnider
TVFactFan 01-20-2026, 09:59 PM I see Adelaide from Different Strokes was in the Happy New Year episode and did the same dance on DS:lol: If I had to rank all the stage performances I will say Ginny and Schneider's was the best followed by Julie and Barbara and then Ann.
Ginny had a nice voice

Did Antenna have the opening scene with Barbara and Julie in it? The used to cut it and begin the episode with Ann at the office.

It’s important because it sets up that the girls are going to be gone all night, so Ann can take the maestro home and hook up.

Right so if Tubi didnt have it I would have been on here saying........"there was no mention of Julie and Barbara. Where were they?? lol
BTW: Tubi didnt have Happy New Year
Bonniegirl 01-21-2026, 06:33 AM The Maestro was a good looking guy! So he would have been the first guy Ann was with after David right? What an upgrade looks wise, but than the Maestro wouldn't be all groveling and begging Ann to love him all the time! :D If a long term romance ended up happening Ann would really have to worry about other women stealing him !
Hard to believe he was the same actor who played the POS who tried to rape Edith Bunker on All in the family or the crazy blind guy on Three's company who was bullying Jack!

TVFactFan 01-21-2026, 11:22 PM Part 1 and 2 of Julie and JC shown tonight. Neither episode is on Tubi. Im guessing something was cut from the beginning because as soon as we see Julie she is acting all talking about Jesus. So I am wondering was she her regular self in the beginning. Then brings the homeless man home who steals and ends up in Jail.
Then why Ann is talking to Julie at the jail antenna TV cut away to another scene lol
Wonder why so many eps centered around Julie? Im sure the girl who played barbara was wondering the same thing at the time

Both Julie and JC episodes are on Tubi. They call it Julie’s Decision.
She was not her regular self at the beginning. She was already into the religious stuff before the episode begins.

Bonniegirl 01-22-2026, 03:47 PM Julie made Barbara take down the Peter Frampton poster but let her keep Elton John. I remember that poster of Peter very well. It was from the Frampton comes alive album . All of us girls had a big crush on him back in the day . That curly hair. But than I don't think we ever see the Frampton poster in their room again?

Bonniegirl 01-23-2026, 12:23 AM The New car was a real dud of an episode. The episodes with Ann and Ed or Ann and David just arguing in the living room are so boring!

He made himself look like a complete fool in that episode for reasons below
Being attracted to Ginny in 1st place
Prosing to her
Proposing in front of everyone
Being depressed because he was rejected by unattractive women lol

Wait until it’s Ann and Sam doing that….
Bonniegirl 01-23-2026, 02:03 PM Wait until it’s Ann and Sam doing that….
Yeah. The season 9 episodes that should focus on the girls and their hubbies at their new home. Not the stale older folks at the apt still. But Sam wasn't as bad. He was my favorite of Ann's long term relationship men.
Bonniegirl 01-23-2026, 02:06 PM That OBESE guy looked familiar
That's Beerbelly. I have a HUGE crush on him! LOL! Not really, but it just became a running joke with Opus and I that I have the hots for big old dancing Beerbelly from that party!:D
Just something silly! :crazy::lol:
Bonniegirl 01-23-2026, 02:12 PM The show kept trying to portray her as a sexy cocktail waitress.
I know. She's more like an aging cocktail waitress that has worked for years and years at an old rundown Las Vegas casino. One that wouldn't get hired at the big , newer upscale casinos on the strip. But the smaller, old seedy hotel/ casinos in downtown Vegas. And only there cause she has already worked there for years and years, and not very attractive, but friendly and efficient.

TVFactFan 01-23-2026, 03:15 PM Tonight ep Julie Operation I see deals with Ann questioning the youth of the doctor. Thats how I feel now about when I go to the doctor. Seems like they getting younger and younger
Since we are talking about Ginny, does anyone remember her on Maude. The episode was Maude’s Big Move, Part One, also called The Chinese Dinner if that helps. It was the last episodes of the series.

When I watched it on DVD I didnt know her as Ginny because I had not watched odaat yet
Tonight ep Julie Operation I see deals with Ann questioning the youth of the doctor. Thats how I feel now about when I go to the doctor. Seems like they getting younger and younger
Yup. Unfortunately they’re not getting younger, we’re getting older.
I put that episode in the “good” pile. The other one tonight I put in the “really bad” pile.

Ginny's child:lol:
Bonniegirl 01-23-2026, 04:48 PM I saw Julie dancing with him lol
I know. I got jealous!! LOL!!:lol::D

I didn't even think about it being her until I saw "Mary Louise Wilson" in the closing credits.
TVFactFan 01-23-2026, 10:14 PM Julie's Operation was the best of season 2 so far. I could see why Ann had a issue with the young DR. He wasnt serious instead he was young and goofy:lol: But my question is they didnt have ER's in the 70's?? Why was Ann trying to find a doctor for julie so late at night instead of going to hospital??
I wasnt expecting the episode to end before Julie had the surgery. I mean that defeated the purpose of the whole episode. Ann was hesitant because the dr was young and then he operates and proves her wrong. Im surprised that was seen at all. Great episode............AWFUL ENDING
TVFactFan 01-23-2026, 10:35 PM Ginny's child yes that was bad. Glad I ate my tacos when I watched Julie's operation. So if Ginny had custody of the 10 year old this would have been another Willona and Penny. Single friend with a child. I guess the episode would have been a little better if we actually saw the child
Yes I will never watched this episode again unless its on youtube and its the CBS version with commercials:lol:

I thought the exact same thing. Julie should have been taken to the ER. I don't know how it worked back than either. I was a teenager , but nobody in my family ever had a medical emergency like that!
And it didn't seem like a financial issue, like having no medical insurance and being afraid the hospital would turn them away if they couldn't pay. It seemed like Ann had medical insurance, so yeah weird they didn't just get Julie to the hospital.
But it was a good episode. Besides how Julie's surgery turned out, it would have been cool to see that young Dr.down the line in another episode, see how he was doing in his medical career.

Yeah it was nothing that a doctor could do at the house so she obviously had to go to the damm hospital lol
I did like the way he trolled Ann at the end
"Does your daughter have a thing for me?
Ann: yes
Dr......"well I dont know what to do I havent reached that chapter yet:lol::lol:

I think it’s illegal (not to mention immoral) for an ER to deny emergency help for lack of insurance.

Bonniegirl 01-24-2026, 06:55 AM Im looking forward to not seeing her anymore
Yeah, I'm not going to shed any tears about Ginny not being on anymore!
Bonniegirl 01-24-2026, 07:44 AM I'm going to be like that drunk guy Mr. Klaggett or the drunk guy from the flea bag hotel on Superbowl ( but I won't steal anything, LOL). But I do tend to drink a little too much on Superbowl Sunday, right Opus? Remember that time I was so drunk and upset about the Patriots winning I was on here fighting with Patriots fans and almost got kicked off of S.O.:crazy::lol:
Thank God for Obama , who started Healthcare for everyone! But before that, I mean they would treat you at a hospital emergency if you were in labor about to have a baby, if you were shot or stabbed and bleeding profusely, in a horrible automobile accident or an obvious heart attack. But mainly for anything else you had to go to the county run hospitals and wait and wait to even be seen , even if you were in horrible pain and given the third degree about how you planned to pay abd all.
Again I say Thank God for Barrack Obama , and now " You know who" is planning to stop this! :(
But they’re all so heroic on shows like ER. George Clooney! :eyes:

as long as stiddy dont turn over the ball and denver defense plays well they should be enough to beat the Pats
BTW: I had a dream denver won 16-3. Pick 6 was the only TD

It appears they have some type of insurance since they had a doctor which is why I dont know why they just didnt go straight to hospital

Hope you're right. I'd be a lot more confident with Bo Nix.

There was times during the season that the offense with nix only scored 13 and defense played well enough for them to still win. So maybe that can happen tomorrow

exactly. Now to get things back on track. So Ginny's absence is never mentioned on the show right?
Bonniegirl 01-25-2026, 08:33 PM exactly. Now to get things back on track. So Ginny's absence is never mentioned on the show right?
No. She is just was no longer there. And no new neighbor showed up. , as to lead to that she moved away. Like when David left and Ginny joined the cast , it seemed like maybe Ginny was supposed to have rented David's old apt.
Bonniegirl 01-25-2026, 08:36 PM I'm 99 percent sure Ginny's absence was never mentioned? But Opus will know! LOL !

The next new tenant we meet is the race car driver.

Since he never saw him again do we think the young doctor immediately moved away?

Yeah. Maybe the race car driver rented the young Dr.who moved out apt. ? Hoping the young Dr.advanced in his carreer by doing an amazing job , especially doing an emergency appendectomy and was able to get a luxury apt. Or even buy a house.
Bonniegirl 01-26-2026, 09:46 PM Barbara looks so cute dressed as an Indian girl. And Julie is looking really pretty. As of the last few episodes it looks like she got a really cute perm. Really noticeable in the appendix episode. As sick as she was supposed to be , she was looking at her best! :D. Her hair looked really good.:)

Well, it turns out he was good, just with a lousy jokey bedside manner. I like when he apologizes and says it’s because he’s been watching a lot of MASH lately.

TVFactFan 01-27-2026, 12:35 PM Im confident that Ginny's Child and Butterfields will be the worst 2 eps of the series. I would be shocked if I come across any eps worst than those 2.

Really? both seem like 8.5 out of 10 from the episode descriptions
I rank the episodes first and foremost by how much Barbara is in them, and she isn't in Singles Bar that much, so it's going to end up low for me.

If I remember right Bonnie likes that one more then me.
TVFactFan 01-27-2026, 11:28 PM Singles Bar and Julie's Operation are my favorites of season 2 so far. I enjoyed singles bar, it was a nice switch up with Ann and Schneider away from the kids and out of the house . And schneider trying to make moves on the ladies and ended up approaching a transgender:lol: The two ladies at the end going home with men who they really didnt want because they was horny and lonely. lol
And Poor Barb ended up with no date for the dance because she couldnt pick just one guy lol And why the hell did bobby goofy ass want to go to the dance if he couldnt dance? lol

Yeah, singles bar was something different. Normally I prefer when the story is about the girls more. But this was OK, being it showed alot of characters, not just the regulars, so a change of pace.
The bar seemed boring though. No music or no sports on a TV. Nothing! And not even like a dive bar with a pool table, pool is fun after a couple of drinks. Just people sitting
around hoping to hook up. Those ladies really were desperate, it was sad! I thought the heavy set lady was actually the prettiest of the ladies there. Pretty face and hair, Schneider didn't want her yet he found Ginny attractive ! That actress went on to play the maid in Two and a half men.
That was funny when that guys toupee was falling off!
Bonniegirl 01-28-2026, 12:57 AM Cliff sure was good looking, but conceited. And if I were Barbara it would have bugged me, him calling her " kid" .
Julie looked really pretty in her green dress. It's a shame we never got to see her date.
Yeah pretty awkward to go to a school dance if you can't dance at all. Cause that's all there us to do. It's not like a nightclub, where there would be drinks and food if you didn't want to dance.
That was a really good episode, one of the best if season 2 IMO.
Now the Singles bar should have had music , at least if people were dancing together it would give them a better chance getting to know each other . Not just going up to each other making lame conversation.
Bonniegirl 01-28-2026, 01:02 AM This is really being picky , but how far is Logansport from Indy ? We're the girls going to take a cab all the way there? Or was the cab just to take them to the greyhound bus station? And why couldn't Ann or Schneider drive them to the bus terminal?

Yeah, she was going to that same school dance and already had a date for the dance planned in advance.
And the girl Cliff got at the last minute while on the phone in the apt. after Barbara broke the date. And he tells her to be ready in 10 minutes, so the girl was really sitting around hoping Cliff would ask her after all, it was desperate female night on that show today !

icecream 01-28-2026, 01:39 PM Tonight at 8:30 is the 2nd best episode of the series behind only Jay Leno's appearance. Valerie and Mackenzie have great chemistry in the season 2 finale, with no trace of irritating Schneider.

Is that Where's Mother or Girls alone? The one where Ann is on a business trip , and the girls worry cause Ann doesn't call when she arives and there seems to be no sign she even checked into the hotel? I think that was the scenario.
I also think this is one of Opus's favorites. :)

I wonder if anyone watching back then thought they were really going to kill Ann.

wonder why she had a chrissy snow moment in that episode:lol:
icecream 01-28-2026, 11:25 PM I remember that twerking/spanking scene being longer. Antenna TV made more cuts since the last time they aired this show. :nonono:
TVFactFan 01-28-2026, 11:55 PM Even though Julie was making a good point about college being overrated she was forgetting one thing..............she was going to be 18 and had to do something and had no money lol So she wasnt in position to say what she wasnt going to do.
The College Question was better than the Girls Alone. Ann with a phone scene only like Chrissy snow lol

Oh, that’s what you meant by Chrissy Snow moment. Good comparison.
Bonniegirl 01-29-2026, 12:47 AM I liked Where's Mom , girls home alone better than the first episode. I found that one about Julie's education just so so.
Julie and Barbara really did have good Sister chemistry in Home alone . Bonding and fighting, like real Sisters do. Worrying about Mom.The eating icecream and celery was really funny. Good episode! :)
Bonniegirl 01-29-2026, 12:48 AM what spanking scene?
Yeah really. I don't remember any twerking or spanking going on!:lol:
TVFactFan 01-29-2026, 12:54 AM Yeah really. I don't remember any twerking or spanking going on!:lol:
No one was twerking in the 70s:lol:
Bonniegirl 01-29-2026, 12:59 AM And that’s the end of season 2.
I wonder if anyone watching back then thought they were really going to kill Ann.
Nah. I think everyone was figuring it would work out and Ann would be fine. It seems to me that 10PM would be kind of late to be calling my daughters if I was away on a trip . They said she always calls at 10 . Even though they were teenagers, seems she would call earlier. Than the show wouldn't have been as dramatic. If Ann usually called at 8 it wouldn't be getting that late when the girls were trying to get to the party. Making it 10 , it was getting late and more scary thst they hadn't heard from Mom. But than teenagers wanting to go out to a party. Mixed emotions. Worry about Mom? Or be p*ssed ypu wouldn't bevwith your friends!
He must mean when Julie starts stretching exercises and sticks her butt near Barbara’s face. Barbara spanks it.
Bonniegirl 01-29-2026, 01:02 AM Sorry for the typos. On my cell phone, it's really hard to scroll to edit!

Bonniegirl 01-29-2026, 01:26 AM It was kind of a weird episode for a season finale
It kind of reminded me of another episode. I think season 4 maybe? A Christmas episode where Ann, Julie and Barbara are in a run down cabin with no heat. It was Schneidrer's cabin and he described it as a really nice, sweet cabin in the woods for a nice Christmas vacation spot.. But it was a dump, and they were freezing and all cuddled up together talking and bonding . Like the ep.tonite , but Ann is with them in this one.
Right Opus? Don't you find these two eps.to be kind of similar?
Bonniegirl 06-09-2026, 07:19 PM I'm gonna watch today. Schneider's nephew the thief. And Grampa visiting. Two funny episodes. The debut of that funny guy named John .:D

Cliff was the good looking hot guy, but John and Bob were more fun and nicer. :) Sadly alot of girls go for the good looking one more than the average guys and get their hearts broken. :(
Bonniegirl 06-09-2026, 10:51 PM Grampa said John looked like a bum!
Is it weird that in the closing credits of A Visit from Dad they call John “Ben”?

Yeah. That is weird. IMDB has him listed as Ben too. I guess last minute they decided to call him John.

I know. And John just looked like a regular teenage boy at that time in the 1970's. What would Grampa think nowadays with the young people having tons of tattoos and nose piercings and all!:lol:
