We were mainly an eat-at-the-table family with the occasional pizza-and-a-movie in the living room night.

Soon as I got the Dude seal of approval I knew this thread was a dud.

Growing up , typical Leave it to Beaver. My Mom and Dad insisted we all sit at the table for every dinner.

When I had my own family, I was much more relaxed about it. Sometimes we sat at the table, sometimes in front of the TV. Just so they ate and got to like some healthy things too mattered more than formal dining to me.

Now, with just me and the Hub. Table? What table? We have a dining table? Oh you mean that piece of furniture we have to move the bills and junk mail of of to set up the plates!:D

Nowadays we cheat. We eat at the kitchen table but there’s a TV in there.

Growing up when I was a kid
(I know hard to believe I was ever a kid)
we ate at the dinner table.

When I got married we also started to eat at the table.
I started a second job, the kids had school functions,
and dinners were on the run.

Now, with the kids all grown
(but some adult grandkids still live here)
and the adult grandkids never know when they will be done with work,
and other grandkids have school functions.
we all eat at different times.
