I found the group The Classics IV and I always thought that they were a cool group of the 60's and the late Dennis Yost really brought The Classics IV to life with his amazing voice. One of my favorite Classics IV songs is Stormy because of it's laid back sound and Marvel should've used this song to promote the character Storm from the X-Men. I also didn't know that The Classics IV sang the song Traces because the very first time I heard that song was when Gloria Estefan covered it and it too is a beautiful song. But how Spooky became a hit is a mystery because the ballad and lyrics are creepy?

Was Dennis Yost originally the drummer for The Classics IV when it first began? And did their saxophonist move on to the Atlanta Rhythm Section after The Classics IV split up?

^^^ I don't know about the saxophone player, but Mr. Dennis did both the lead singing and the drums and when he did them simultaneously, he played the drums standing up according to his Wikipedia page.

God bless you and his family always!!!

P.S. He passed away in 2008.

According to Wikipedia,

"In 1970, Cobb, Buie and Daughtry formed what would become Atlanta Rhythm Section with Candymen drummer Robert Nix. However, the former two remained active as writers and producers for the band."

(Buie was a manager and songwriter.)

I always thought of the Classics IV as a mellow vocal group, but the Wikipedia page calls them a band. Many times, vocal groups back then used studio musicians such as The Wrecking Crew, so I've been wrong about their makeup--although the Classics IV Wikipedia page says they did use a couple of non-members as musicians on their studio recordings.

My mom used to love the song Traces because it brings her back to her high school days and when The Classics IV sang Traces on Pandora that was the first time she had ever heard that song in years. Gloria Estefan's cover of Traces is also very beautiful and sweet. But my favorite song of The Classics IV is Stormy because I think Marvel should've used it to promote the character Storm from the X-Men and when I hear that song I think of Storm
