View Full Version : Golden Girls Parody On SNL
DorSopBlanRos 11-15-2002, 09:58 PM Hello I'm new to this board, but not new to the golden girls, it is and has been my favorite show. But did any of you guys see the golden girls parody they did on SNL it was a couple of years ago, it was really funny.
Four guys dress up as them and reenact it on thier free time and then on of them chokes and dies on some cheesecake. Then at his funeral everyone thier sings the theme song, it was SO funny.

FOLrocks1 11-15-2002, 10:24 PM It sounds very funny! I wish I saw it. Do you remember which one of them dies?
Georgia's on my Mind 11-15-2002, 11:32 PM ah! I wish I could have seen it!! It sounds hillarious...
I just wanted to mention what they did on "Cybill" today's episode four old women were putting dollar bills in this stripper's pants and Cybill is sitting in the corner and MaryAnn goes "What are you doing directing a episode of the Golden Girls??" It was SO funny, I wish I taped it.
~LadyJess~ 11-16-2002, 01:23 AM This also reminds me of the episode of Friends where Chandler, Monica, and Ross are all telling secrets about each other and Monica says, "Ross used to stay home every Saturday night and watch Golden Girls!"

Hey Jacob, it was "Rose", as played by Chris (Khris? Kris?) Kattan.
Last year at around this time my best friend called me up and said I HAD to put it on SNL, and there it was! TOO funny! He said, "Back in St. Olaf,", then a few seconds later, the cheesecake took him...
It even had his parents on there like they were talkin' on a "48 Hours" show or somethin', sadly reminiscin' about how he loved GG so much, how he would get his friends to come over and dress up like 'em and re-enact scenes...and they were chokin' back tears the whole time, it was GREAT! LOL! :rotflmao:

RueMcClanahanFan 11-16-2002, 04:48 AM SNL has done a lot of great skits, but I think the GG parody is THE funniest, most original thing they've ever done.
My favorite part is when one of the guys is dressed as Blanche and he says, "I'm more into Rue McClanahan now." I always yell out, "ME TOO!" Haha!!
GoldenGuy 11-16-2002, 11:45 AM you know how sometimes you say I fell on the floor laughing, well when i saw this, i LITERALLY fell on the floor.
Frasier W. Crane 11-16-2002, 03:29 PM Any screen caps available for this?
RueMcClanahanFan 11-16-2002, 06:28 PM There will be. I'm making a photo gallery for this on my site. I've had the screen caps stored away on my hard drive for about year; I just haven't put them up yet.

It doesn't come on Saturday nights unless you have tapes like I used to!

Monica meant the original airings though, when it aired on Saturday nights---back when Ross was in his twenties.
