I hated the way Murray was going to comfort Veronica from her tears until Archie pointed out that Ver had gone into the ladies room. Murray was originally right to try to help her. She should not have been left alone in her horrifying state of mind! She could have actually committed suicide! Depressed women, in real life, are far more likely to try to kill themselves then depressed men are. This is what should happened. When Veronica broke down and cried and stormed into the ladies room Murray should have followed to the door. Archie should have pointed out to his partner that it was the ladies room, then Murray should have asked Archie to leave him alone and he (Murray) should have gone on trying to reason to Veronica to come out. Murray is often a pretty good non-professional psychologist. I am surprised the writers wrote his character to give up so easy. If the writers did not want the whole ep to be become about Veronica's depression fine, we could have just followed out Archie of the room and into another situation confident Murray was handling Veronica's problem. As for people who feel Veronica did not know Edith well enough to be very depressed over the latter's death I say this. It's also possible Veronica was also horribly depressed in her feelings for Stephanie (the kid has now twice lost her mother figure). And in real life remember if a girl or woman becomes depressed in front of you the worst thing to do is to leave her all alone. She could very easily do something desperate. Females especially almost always need a lot of comforting from their depressed emotions.
