On September 17, 2025, the announcement was made that the Muppets would be returning just in time for their 50th anniversary, co-starring Sabrina Carpenter and having involvement from comedian Seth Rogen, this looks to be shaping up to be yet another attempt at a return to Muppet media like never before.

Welcome back to Muppetcember, a yearly Muppet themed video series going over the media left behind or currently being made by everyone's favorite felt comedians, the last couple years have been really enjoyable whenever I’ve made these type of videos and clearly people have liked them so why not keep it going.

In the last video, we discussed the Muppets' complete ventures into the silver screen (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jzfLvCi4ds), with movies such as (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0Dv-CL9-kI) Muppets Make Manhattan, Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppets 2011 being amazing examples of the many directions this franchise went into and how much of a chord it struck with many people, myself included.

And of course this all started with The Muppet Show, it was a series that proved that this medium was able to be something major, using puppetry to entertain and enlighten its audience, guest stars that not only did the cast and crew want to work with, but that for a fact were introduced to a whole new audience because of The Muppet Show, and which of course, all led us to multiple big time movies, TV specials, a Disney ride and a whole lot more.

For this video specifically, I’m gonna cover 2 of what can be considered of the most recent quote on quote “Modern interpretations” of an actual Muppet SHOW, attempts at recapturing that same magic as the original Muppet Show run from the '70s, y'know, trying to BECOME something like it, and I’m only gonna be covering 2 mainly because I know nobody cares about the Muppets now, hell even Disney doesn’t care about the Muppets now.

The Muppets 2015 and Muppets Mayhem, both were this companies attempt at creating a Muppet series for the modern age, both were taken away too soon and both were never really given the chance to explore what could’ve been, with these two series being some of the most recent attempts at TV for the Muppets, lets go over them today, their highs, their lows, their flaws, their strengths, and what exactly has them stand out from the crowd when compared to the other Muppet series both past and present.
