An I Love Lucy New Years Eve:
(Lucy marches into the living room where Ricky is sitting.)
Ricky: “Lucy, I just read on the Wednesday Afternoon FANG & CLAW League that you all are having a New Year’s Eve play on New Year’s Eve.”
Lucy: “That’s right and guess who will be Baby New Year.”
Ricky: “Oh no. I’m not a part of this.”
Lucy: “It’s not you. Come on out Fred & Ethel.”
(They come out. Fred is dressed as Baby New Year. Ricky is in stitches.)
Ricky (yells): “BWHAHAHAHAHA!”
Fred: “Very funny.”
Lucy: “And I will be responsible for dropping the ball at midnight.”
Fred: “You do have experience in doing that.”
Lucy: “Oh!”
(Ricky laughs.)
Lucy: “I promise you. Nothing will go wrong.”
(On New Year’s Eve, the play is in full swing.)
(Ricky is in the crowd. He is talking to the Ramseys.)
Ricky: “We wouldn’t miss this for the world.”
Lucy (off stage, yells): “TIME TO DROP THE BALL.”
(Lucy goes to Ethel.)
Lucy: “Ethel, I’m losing my grip.”
All (yell): “10…9…8…7…6…5…4…3…2…”
Lucy (letting go): “You take it Ethel.”
(To be continued.)
