Why would he talk about it on “All in the Family?” Rob Reiner of Los Angeles, California won the $10,000, not Mike Stivic of Queens, New York.
You know Mike Stivic was a fictional character played by Rob Reiner, right? He lived in a fictional universe with other fictional characters. Between this thread and the Rob Reiner tribute thread on the “All in the Family” board, I’m sincerely starting to worry about your grasp on reality.

For some reason, I was not in school on that date. (Day after Easter?) I saw this.
“Pyramid” was still getting some bugs worked out as it went along. Originally there were 8 items each in the main game’s 30-second rounds—but rarely did anyone get all eight. For example, in the Pat Carroll/Richard Deacon program that survived wiping—how in the world can one describe “pull a sled” easily?
Once I started viewing more faithfully in 1975 or so, it seemed that ONE Winners-Circle win in the weekly 10 attempts was the norm. Two wins in one show? Not very often! However once when it became The 20K Pyramid, where you had to win three games (first two Circle attempts unsuccessful) to try for the max prize, celebrity Rick Hurst, who we just lost in 2025, won the $20K for someone in game 1, then won $10K for someone in game 2. I remembered that well. I’m sure that the budget committee didn’t care for that! I’m not even sure Hurst ever returned—but his sitcom “On the Rocks” ended quickly, and he was looking for other work!
Anyway yes I saw Show #1 with Reiner. I have no idea if the 10K was won again that week or not.
BTW during 1975, Lucie Arnaz and Clifton Davis were gangbusters at playing the game. It was sad when they didn’t return. But heaven forbid any contestant having William Shatner as a partner!
